Gijang outlet dinner with napa cabbage salad and pizza to go: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Restaurant is a Western restaurant inside Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets in Gijang, Busan, at the far end of the North Building next to the Systeme and UGG stores. Stopping in during the final month of pregnancy on a weekend shopping trip, the writer was seated with no wait and ordered the basic soup, the signature napa cabbage salad and shrimp oil pasta with single grapefruit and single orange juice, then took home a basil margherita wood-fired pizza with the basil left out entirely. Bueokgan is an easy choice for a lighter dinner that still suits a table with kids and adults together.

With my due date close, my doctor told me to keep moving — go shopping if I like shopping, travel if I like traveling — so I combined a visit to my grandmother's with an outing to Shinsegae Premium Outlets Busan.

Where is Bueokgan? End of the North Building, mid-shopping route
Bueokgan is a Western restaurant near the end of North Building at Shinsegae Premium Outlets Busan, right next to Systeme and UGG. After a round of shopping I got hungry and started wondering what to eat — Bueokgan kept coming up as a Gijang Western food recommendation, so I decided to check it out :)
The layout is basically made for this: circle North Building, eat at Bueokgan once you're hungry, then cross over to South Building to keep shopping haha.

Is there a wait on a weekend evening at Bueokgan? Waiting area and interior
Even if there's a wait, Bueokgan has a comfortable, cushioned waiting area so it doesn't feel like a hassle — and since I visited on a weekend evening, I got seated right away without any wait :)

The interior is clean, with the kind of decor you'd expect from a proper Western restaurant — nice change from the usual crowded food-court feel!
I've heard a lot of moms say it's hard to find places to eat with kids these days, but Bueokgan is a YES Kids Zone, so it looked great for dining with children too.
Bueokgan's menu and how tablet ordering works

Every table has a tablet for ordering, with photos for each dish, so it's easy even when you're dining with older family members. There are signature sets plus a range of Western dishes across salads, pasta & risotto, steak, and drinks.

Lately, a heavy dinner doesn't sit well with me, so I ordered soup, salad, and oil pasta, plus orange and grapefruit juice :) Risotto, lasagna, and steak are also popular signature dishes, so there's plenty to pick based on your taste!

Single grapefruit and single orange juice at Bueokgan
The drinks came out with the table setting right after we ordered. Both the single grapefruit and single orange were refreshing enough that you could taste the actual fruit — great for quenching thirst, and kids would love these too!

Bueokgan's basic soup
I ordered the basic soup after seeing reviews say it was good, and wow, it really was! The sweet pumpkin and butter combination was sweet in a nice way, and I liked the thoughtful touch of a separate bowl for portioning it out.

Bueokgan's signature napa cabbage salad
Next up was one of the signature dishes, the al배추 (young napa cabbage) salad. It looked completely different from a typical salad, so I was curious how it would taste — the cabbage is grilled to bring out sweetness, then topped with a tangy sauce, savory cheese, and small bits of bacon-like meat. Mixed together, it was an unusual combination that kept me going back for more!

Shrimp oil pasta at Bueokgan
The oil pasta also came out with plump shrimp and just the right amount of oiliness, with onion and garlic well sautéed. It broke the stereotype of Western food being heavy and flour-based — light but still filling, which made me like Bueokgan, my Gijang Western food find, even more.

Basil margherita pizza to go, with the basil left out
I ordered a basil margherita pizza to go from Bueokgan to eat at home, and since I was eating it with my grandmother, I asked for just a little basil — but they offered to leave it out entirely instead, so the wood-fired pizza came with just cheese and basil pesto.
Eating it at home, the dough was nice and chewy and paired well with the cheese — my grandmother had three whole slices! For anyone looking for a family restaurant in Gijang, Busan that works for both adults and kids, or a good spot at Shinsegae Premium Outlets Busan, I'd definitely recommend Bueokgan 😉✨️
