• Don't forget to register for waiting: when you get there, don't just wait outside — go straight in and register your number on the waiting kiosk! Turnover is fast, but you're seated in registration order, so this step is essential.
• A rider's paradise: throughout the meal, delivery order alerts kept going off nonstop, with delivery riders constantly coming in to pick up orders — watching that, I thought, 'yep, this is definitely a legit local favorite.'

Ordering is simple via the kiosk. Next to the kiosk there's a self-serve bar with aprons, plus pickled radish, frying powder, soy sauce and salt — help yourself to whatever you want. ❗️

Hyeonseonine's signature star! Chewy, soft wheat rice cakes. True to its roots as the original spicy tteokbokki, even the base spice level runs pretty sharp, so if you're spice-shy, I'd recommend mild or medium. The savory, sharp broth has this magical pull that makes you reach for the fritters and gimbap. Neither of us is especially spice-sensitive, and even medium was quite spicy. Still, it's the kind of spicy that's delicious 😀

2. Crispy-outside, tender-inside assorted fritters

Gimmari (fried seaweed roll), squid, vegetable, sweet potato, and yakki-mandu (pan-fried dumplings) — freshly fried, with a crunch that's honestly a work of art. No greasy off-flavor at all, just clean and light, and dunked into the spicy tteokbokki broth it's a match made in heaven. Every single fritter was genuinely delicious!

This squid fritter was a work of art 🤍🤍👍 Fritters can get greasy or overwhelming if you eat too many, but this was truly the first time I finished them all...

3. Sundae — ordered mixed-organ

Chewy sundae (Korean blood sausage) with no off-putting smell at all! I ordered it mixed-organ style, and my husband, who loves sundae, said it was so good. Delicious dipped in salt, and just as good tossed in the broth.

4. Mini gimbap and warm fish cake broth

These bite-sized mini gimbap (seaweed rice rolls), fragrant with sesame oil, were perfect for dunking into the tteokbokki broth. The gimbap was seriously 👍. Follow it with a sip of the deep, rich fish cake broth and it completely resets your mouth from the heat, making it dangerously easy to keep eating nonstop.
