Half-and-half boneless dakgangjeong and chicken legs in Jungnang
In short
Pyeongjeong Dakgangjeong is a fried chicken restaurant inside Myeongmok Market in Jungnang, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Sagajeong Station. The blogger ordered an extra-large half-and-half boneless dakgangjeong (fried chicken bites), half fried and half seasoned, for ₩13,000, plus 6 chicken legs for ₩9,000 — the fried half was well-seasoned enough to eat without sauce, while the seasoned half was on the spicier side. Verdict: great for grown-ups, but the chicken legs are the better pick for kids since the dakgangjeong is quite crunchy.

A dakgangjeong specialist inside Myeongmok Market near Sagajeong Station

Pyeongjeong Dakgangjeong is a fried chicken and dakgangjeong specialist located a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Sagajeong Station. It's a real fried chicken spot — whole chicken, chicken legs, wings, deep-fried gizzards, and boneless dakgangjeong, they have it all. Since it's inside Myeongmok Market, you can also pay with Onnuri gift certificates, making it even cheaper. They fry it right after you order, so the crunch factor is up! You can choose your sauce, and the mild spicy option here felt a bit spicier than other places~

The menu and what we ordered

Extra-large half-and-half boneless dakgangjeong ₩13,000 / 6 chicken legs ₩9,000

Half-and-half boneless dakgangjeong — fried and seasoned

When you order the half-and-half boneless dakgangjeong in the extra-large size, you can pick two flavors. I went with fried and seasoned. The fried version is well-seasoned/brined, so it's delicious even without any sauce. The seasoned one has a spicy sauce that makes you go "ooh, hot" while eating it, but it's the good kind of spicy so you keep reaching for more~ I'm usually a seasoned-sauce person and not really into plain fried chicken, but the fried one here was so good it paired really well with the seasoned one!

6 chicken legs — the better choice for eating with kids

I ordered the chicken legs just out of curiosity, and the soft meat combined with the crispy frying was really delicious! The dakgangjeong seemed like it would be too crunchy/hard for a kid, so I picked the meat off the chicken legs instead, and my child ate it up happily^^ Next time I might just order the chicken legs alone and ask them to toss it in the seasoned sauce, haha. Getting the sauce tossed on costs an extra ₩200 or maybe ₩500!
