Bukchon Italian restaurant, 5pm seating and 3 dishes: Low Five Anguk

In short

Low Five Anguk is a casual Western restaurant on Bukchon-ro, about 188m from Anguk Station Exit 2 in Jongno, Seoul. Before a perfume-making workshop nearby, the writer and a friend arrived at 5pm as break time ended and shared corn pizza (25,000 won), classic lasagna (23,000 won) and vongole pasta (18,000 won). The corn pizza, with its faint truffle aroma, was the most memorable dish and the reason the writer would return to Low Five Anguk.

Found it. My go-to pizza place near Anguk Station. A pizza lover's pick.

I'd booked a perfume-making workshop around Anguk, so my friend and I were looking for somewhere to eat beforehand. The vibe looked good and the pizza looked delicious, so we went to Low Five Anguk. There are so many pretty spots and good restaurants around Anguk these days that it's really easy to build a whole Anguk Station date course. We were on a schedule that day — eat, then head to the perfume workshop — and I have to say, starting with Low Five turned out to be the right call!

We timed our visit to when break time ended, basically an opening-run move. Honestly I thought showing up right at 5pm would mean walking straight in? We did get in right away, but I was surprised how many people were already there haha. Guess that's what makes it an Anguk Station favorite.

Waiting is handled through CatchTable on-site — you just check in when you arrive and see how it looks. Weekends or prime date-night hours are probably busier, so if you're planning a visit to this Anguk favorite, I'd recommend going with some time to spare.

Inside Low Five Anguk: interior mood and seating

Low Five Anguk isn't a formal restaurant, but it's not overly casual either — it sits right in between as a casual Western-style spot. There are sunlit window seats alongside tables with soft lighting, so it still felt good even in the evening.

Interior design of Low Five Anguk

Apparently Low Five started as a small brunch spot. It began with humble but carefully made dishes like sandwiches and pasta, and gradually grew its menu into the casual restaurant it is today.

Walking in, you can really feel that. Not too formal, but not too laid-back either,

There are sunlit window seats and softly lit tables too, so the mood stays nice even in the evening. Should be a solid option for anyone looking for an Anguk Station date spot.

A glass of beer ordered with the meal

My friend ordered a beer with the meal too. At first we debated, "should we get two pastas and one pizza?" but the lasagna on the menu looked way too good to skip.

Table spread with corn pizza, lasagna, and vongole pasta

In the end we ordered three: corn pizza + classic lasagna + vongole pasta. Pretty generous for two people to finish haha, but we wanted to try a bit of everything.

Corn pizza at Low Five Anguk: sweet-savory with a hint of truffle

The corn pizza at Low Five Anguk is ₩25,000, topped with white truffle cream, bacon, chili shrimp, butter seasoning, and grilled corn. It was the dish I remembered most out of the three we had that day.

A whole corn pizza at Low Five Anguk

The one I was most excited for was the corn pizza! If you're looking for a good pizza spot near Anguk Station, I really want to recommend this one. It's topped with white truffle cream, bacon, chili shrimp, butter seasoning, and grilled corn, and the smell was amazing the second it hit the table.

A slice of corn pizza topped generously with grilled corn

Doesn't it just scream fall! I'm honestly not that into corn, but I ordered it because it looked good — and the first bite hit sweet corn first, with truffle rising up gently alongside it, so it wasn't just a sweet pizza, it had real depth of flavor. There was plenty of corn on top too, giving it a nice pop of texture.

Personally, out of everything we ate that day, the pizza stuck with me the most. I usually get tired of overly sweet food fast, but this one had savory, salty notes running through it too, so I kept reaching for another slice. I get why it's such a popular pick for pizza near Anguk Station! If you like pizza, the corn pizza is worth trying at least once.

The limited classic lasagna is best eaten warm

The classic lasagna is ₩23,000, baked with tomato ragu sauce, béchamel, and mozzarella cheese. It's best eaten warm, right when it arrives.

And then the classic lasagna, which I was sold on the moment I saw it on the menu. It's baked with tomato ragu sauce, béchamel, and mozzarella cheese. I'd recommend eating it warm right when it comes out! When it first arrived, the cheese was soft and the sauce blended smoothly into the moist lasagna sheets — really good. But since it's a cheese-based dish, that initial softness fades a bit as it cools. So snap your photos quickly haha, and dig in while it's hot for the best experience.

The tomato ragu wasn't too strong or sharp, and it paired well with the cheese, making it easy to eat without feeling heavy. Among restaurants near Anguk, I like the ones that offer lasagna as an option rather than sticking to just pasta or pizza, so I appreciated the range on the menu here.

Why vongole pasta balanced the three-dish order

The vongole pasta is ₩18,000, a clean oil pasta made with extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and pepperoncino. It balanced out the cheese-heavy corn pizza and lasagna nicely.

Vongole pasta with olive oil and garlic

Last up, the vongole pasta! Since the pizza and lasagna both had cheese and leaned on the heavier side, ordering something clean like vongole rounded out the combo well. The clam flavor came through nicely, and the garlic and oil soaked into the noodles without feeling greasy — easy to keep eating.

If you're visiting in a group and ordering several dishes, I'd recommend a combo like ours — pizza + lasagna + vongole. There are so many pasta places when you search restaurants near Anguk, but Low Five's dishes each have their own distinct character, which makes it a good spot for a group to split several things. There was some, and then there wasn't ... ★

Leftover pizza packed to go

Takeout boxes, service, and Low Five Anguk as an Anguk Station date stop

We got the leftover pizza packed to go! What made me happiest that day, though, was how kind the staff were. Even during a busy stretch, the service never felt rushed or careless — they made sure we could eat comfortably. Good food matters, but when the staff are kind on top of it, the whole memory of the place just gets better.

(I'm apparently a young curmudgeon haha)

My friend had a beer with her meal, and the restaurant's relaxed atmosphere suited pairing dinner with a drink in the evening. If you're around Bukchon or Anguk looking for a good restaurant in Jongno that isn't strictly Korean food, Low Five is a solid option. It's especially good if you want a Jongno restaurant with real atmosphere to go with the food — fine for a meal with friends, fine for a date too. And if you've got a workshop or exhibition nearby like we did, it works great as part of an Anguk Station date course.
