Jeil Market dakgangjeong shop in Uijeongbu: park picnic at Dalgom's

I went to Uijeongbu Jeil Market and got a craving for good fried chicken, so I stopped by Dalgom's :)

I picked the three-person menu since we could split several flavors according to taste, which made it perfect for visiting as a family 💛

Where is Dalgom's in Jeil Market, and what are the hours?

Dalgom's is located inside Uijeongbu Jeil Market, at 56 Simin-ro 143beon-gil, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It was a great spot to pop into while browsing the market haha.

They're open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00–21:00, and closed every Monday. They may close early once ingredients run out, so it's worth keeping in mind if you're planning a late visit!

If you're driving, the Uijeongbu Jeil Market parking lot is convenient. You can get a parking voucher from the store, so park first and then head over 😊

While wandering the market, a cute yellow smiley-face sign caught my eye, so it wasn't hard to find!

Since it's a fried chicken shop inside the market, I expected it to feel a bit small, but the clean, cute vibe won me over from first impression haha.

Stepping inside, it was tidier than I expected 👍 I thought it might be a newly opened shop, but when I asked the owner, they said it's been running for several years!

What surprised me even more was how well-kept the hygiene was. Even though it's been open a long time, every corner of the store was spotless, which gave me even more confidence :)

Since everything is cooked to order, there was a small waiting space, and I could see a bit of the cooking process, which I liked 👍👍

Best of all, cooking to order means you get warm, crispy fried chicken 🍗✨

Seeing the pale, clean-looking fried rice cakes (tteok-twigim) made me trust that they fry in clean oil! 🤍✨ The frying color wasn't too dark either, so it looked appetizing haha.

I loved that there were so many payment options ❤️❤️ You could pay with Onnuri gift certificates, Digital Onnuri, Zero Pay, KakaoPay, Gyeonggi local currency, and more, and if you'd rather enjoy it at home, delivery is available through Ddangyo and Baedal Teukgeup haha!

How to pick the portion size for your group

The fried chicken comes in sizes matched to how many people are eating: half for solo, whole for two, and whole-and-a-half for a group, with a choice of flavors.

Since it was just the three of us with our baby, we ordered the three-person menu! We picked sweet + cheese seasoning (ppuringkeul) + plain fried 🤍 Getting to try three flavors at once made it even more exciting haha.

The photo came out a little dark, which was a bit disappointing 🥹, but the taste was genuinely delicious! 🤍 The sweet flavor had that sweet-and-salty sauce coating the chicken evenly — the familiar, satisfying taste you think of when you hear "fried chicken" haha.

And the one I was most looking forward to — the cheese seasoning (ppuringkeul)! With the cheese powder sprinkled on top, the salty-savory flavor was irresistible. Alternating with the sweet flavor meant each one had its own charm, so it never got tiresome 🧀✨

Last was the plain fried! No sauce, just clean flavor, which was great to eat in between the other two. The batter was crispy while the inside stayed moist and tender — delicious even as the basic option :)

Eating all three flavors together made for a fun progression — sweet → salty → plain haha.

The weather was nice, and eating leisurely in the park felt completely different from eating at home haha. We enjoyed some fresh air with our kid and had a delicious meal 💛

Is Dalgom's dakgangjeong worth it? Final verdict

If you're browsing Uijeongbu Jeil Market and want a quick snack or takeout menu, I'd recommend Dalgom's! The three-person menu especially is great for trying several flavors at once, so it's good for visiting with family or friends 🥰 We went with sweet + cheese seasoning + plain fried, and personally I was satisfied getting to taste all three flavors evenly!
