Looking for a Mapo restaurant that's great for dinner with kids? I'd recommend Solsot Sangam Branch. I'd been putting off visiting this Sangam favorite because of the long lunchtime lines, but I finally made it there for dinner.

Solsot Sangam Branch is a pot rice (sotbap) specialist, so it's a menu everyone from kids to grandparents can enjoy — perfect for going with a child! It's also really close to Digital Media City Station, so accessibility is great too.
Why dinner is the better time to visit Solsot Sangam Branch

Solsot is famous as a Sangam lunch spot packed with office workers, so I avoided lunch and went for dinner instead. It's at 75 Maebongsan-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, in the basement of the DDMC building, right behind the BILL N COO-K sign!

A popular restaurant that was quiet and got our food out fast — it was honestly great! I really recommend visiting this Sangam restaurant in the evening!

We sat right down with no wait and could eat at a relaxed, unhurried pace. Hours are 11:00–21:00, with break time from 16:00–17:00 and last order at 20:30. Definitely check the hours if you're planning a dinner visit.
Parking is free for a total of 1 hour, split into 30 minutes from the building plus a 30-minute meal coupon. It was the perfect amount of time to take a walk around the area after eating!
Menu and prices at Solsot Sangam Branch

Steak pot rice, sea bream and scallop pot rice, eel pot rice, abalone pot rice, and even a limited crab meat pot rice — the variety of pot rice dishes is genuinely impressive. Most of the main pot rice dishes run ₩14,000 to ₩25,000.

Sea bream and scallop pot rice is ₩17,000, and steak pot rice is also ₩17,000.
Freshwater eel pot rice is the priciest at ₩25,000! There's a new lobster pot rice for ₩17,900. On the side, house-made fried shrimp is ₩7,900 and yurinji is ₩8,500.

I went with the 2-person set, picking sea bream and scallop pot rice, steak pot rice, yurinji, and a Cider soda!
An honest review of eating pot rice with a kid
The pot rice came out piping hot, and staff kindly warned us first to be careful so my child wouldn't get hurt.

First, a quick look at how to eat it the tasty way!!

We scooped the pot rice into an empty bowl and poured hot water in to make sungnyung (scorched rice tea)!
The steak pot rice came out with meat cooked perfectly tender.

The steak sauce was served separately, which made it really easy to adjust the seasoning! I just gave my kid a small dab of sauce, and they really loved it.
The sea bream and scallop pot rice came with an extra sheet of seaweed, so you season with soy sauce and wrap bites in seaweed. My kid actually liked that one even more, haha.
The side dishes were salad, kimchi, and soup — simple, but nothing was missing!

The yurinji came topped with chili peppers, spicy and delicious! The batter was crispy, so the texture was great too! The sauce might be a bit too spicy for kids! It's a dish that pairs well with beer for mom and dad, haha.

After the meal, they even brought out a simple dessert — yogurt!
Set up for families: stroller access and kids' tableware

Solsot Sangam Branch is a mecca for office workers, but I was surprised how well set up it was for family visits too.

For one thing, the restaurant is large with wide spacing between tables, so a stroller would fit in easily. There's also a separate room-like space, making it perfect for family gatherings too!

There are high chairs and kids' tableware on hand, and the tablet ordering screen even has a dedicated kids' topping menu!

As soon as we sat down, they brought kids' tableware and scissors right away, which made eating with my child so much easier.

Stroller access: okay. Kids' tableware: okay. Kids' toppings available too — this really is a genuinely family-friendly restaurant!
Coupons and events running at the restaurant

Several events are running in-store, so it's worth grabbing a coupon! Get a drink through the review event!
Book a table for 3 or more at dinner through Naver Reservations and you can get a side menu coupon.

There's also a discount coupon for military/police/firefighters. There's a ₩3,000 birthday discount coupon too, so grab it if you visit during your birthday month! It also said pregnant customers can get a coupon by showing proof.
There's a rock-paper-scissors event where you can win a croquette, but I was too busy eating with my kid and forgot to join in, ugh. I really should have gotten that croquette — such a shame, haha.
I really recommend downloading the coupon on Naver ahead of your visit!
