The siraegi muchim banchan is a standout

Here's the basic banchan (side dishes)!! You get siraegi (dried radish greens) muchim and danmuji. Personally, that siraegi muchim tasted really special? I usually prefer kimchi with my tonkatsu, but this *basic banchan* siraegi muchim was a real treat!!

Interior and table spacing

Looks like a bit of an open kitchen! The place itself is super clean and spacious, with wide table spacing that made it easy to talk. The staff were also really, really kind

Choi bone-in tonkatsu: juicy + crispy

🫶🏻🫶🏻Here's the Choi bone-in tonkatsu🫶🏻🫶🏻 I'm known as a tonkatsu killer and I've been to a lot of tonkatsu places — I like it juicy and crispy with plenty of Western-style sauce… and this bone-in tonkatsu is juicy+crispy itself… The meat inside was genuinely tender, not the slightest bit dry

Shrimp basil pasta: love it or hate the basil?

Shrimp basil pasta tends to split people on the basil flavor, but even my companion fell for the basil flavor this time••• that kind of taste. It also came loaded with plump shrimp!!

See that juicy meat?? It's so moist it cuts really easily!! That refreshing salad on the side was also seriously delicious. The basil pasta comes with a poached egg on top, so you're meant to break the yolk into it 🍳

That noodle texture combined with onion, shrimp, garlic, and bacon is an amazing combo🥹🙀 The shrimp weren't just tiny cocktail shrimp — they were plump and hearty..

The table was also nice and big😋

Cleaned my plate completely.. oh right, one more thing — dipping the bone-in tonkatsu into the leftover basil shrimp pasta sauce is a game changer..😍🥹🥹

Best menu combo for two

Visiting as a pair and ordering one bone-in tonkatsu and one basil shrimp pasta gave us just the right amount of food. Ordering one of each and sharing meant we got to try two dishes, which was great!!

Good for an Okjeong lunch or date?

Highly recommend for lunch in Okjeong! Highly recommend as a Japanese-style restaurant in Okjeong too. Choi Dining has a pretty varied menu, so it seems like a good spot for a group where everyone can pick what they want. With options ranging from tonkatsu to pasta, soba, and futomaki, I found myself wanting to come back and try other dishes next time!!!

FYI! It's a perfect spot for a date🫪 Even at 1:00 PM on a weekday it was already crowded! Reservations highly recommended✌🏾
