This is such a great Ansan Jungang-dong restaurant for special occasions, family gatherings, or date nights! It’s That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge (그남자의이태리식당&라운지), an authentic Italian favorite near Jungang Station. 🍷✨

An outdoor garden and a spacious dining room
The outdoor garden in particular was so pretty and well maintained that it instantly lifted my mood! 🌿🌸 A little healing space like this right in the middle of the city!!! The dining room also has high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, so it never felt stuffy at all. 😁👍🏻

Best of all, there’s plenty of space between tables, and the tables themselves are large, so we could order lots of food and enjoy our meal leisurely without any inconvenience.

Soft jazz and classical music played in the background, and the lighting was gently low, making the atmosphere feel even more romantic as it got darker. ✨ The private room seats up to 18 people, so I could immediately see why it’s popular for dates, blind dates, family meetings, first-birthday parties, bridal showers, and family meals as well as other gatherings‼️ The owner and staff were so welcoming too, which made us feel good from the moment we arrived.
The restroom was super clean too! It’s inside the restaurant~ Even my cleanliness-conscious mom was happy, haha. There are also high chairs ready to go. 👍🏻🥰
What we ordered and my honest taste review

We ordered a variety of mains and salads on this visit, and every single dish looked and tasted fantastic. I was completely satisfied!

Each table has a tablet, so we could look through menu photos and order comfortably without having to call over a staff member.

Once we finished ordering, they thoughtfully brought out bread and wet wipes right away!

Burrata cheese salad
The burrata cheese salad (₩20,900) was fresh and bright, with the saltiness of jamón and the rich nuttiness of the cheese coming together perfectly! It was wonderful for whetting the appetite before the meal, and I highly recommend it as what I imagine would be the perfect pairing with a glass of wine. 🥗
Octopus gratin and tomato spaghetti
The wild Tongyeong octopus ratatouille gratin (₩22,900) is a stew-style gratin simmered with wild Tongyeong octopus, eggplant, zucchini, olives, and capers in a rich tomato sauce. Its spicy savory flavor never became tiring, so I kept reaching for more. The octopus especially was not tough at all—it was wonderfully tender! This was my mom’s absolute number-one pick. 🐙🔥
The spicy chicken tomato spaghetti (₩20,900) had pasta cooked perfectly al dente, with the sauce soaking right into every strand for deep flavor. The chicken thigh on top was incredibly tender and juicy, and its harmony with the spicy tomato sauce was a work of art. 🍝 This one was Dad’s pick!!✔️

Wagyu and lamb rack steaks
The top 1% AA9+ wagyu steak (₩43,900) was full of rich juices, just as you’d expect from a top 1% grade, and it practically melted in the mouth from the first bite. It was clean-tasting yet deeply savory with the meat’s natural richness.. So delicious 🤤

The young lamb French rack steak (₩43,900) had no gaminess whatsoever, with a crisp exterior and moist interior. Anyone who loves lamb would absolutely fall for it. I could fully enjoy that distinct, tender lamb-rack flavor without any off smell. Dip it in the mint jelly sauce—so good, so good. I ordered both steaks medium-well; you can choose your doneness!

Even the complimentary water wasn’t ordinary bottled water—it was fragrant jasmine(?) water, perfect for cleansing the palate between bites of the mains.

A restaurant made for enjoying with wine
That Man's Italian Restaurant is serious about wine as well as atmosphere! There was a beautiful wine display along one side of the restaurant, with more than 40 kinds of bottled wine and wine by the glass. The lineup was wonderfully varied, from easygoing everyday wines to bottles suited to a special anniversary. The burrata cheese salad and steaks we ordered this time would be perfect with wine in particular. 🥂

Sadly, I drove this time, so I couldn’t have any wine. But next time, I’d love to leave the car behind and enjoy a glass in the lovely atmosphere for a date or gathering! If you’re driving, make sure to take advantage of the free parking; if you plan to enjoy wine, I recommend coming by public transit. 🚘✨

Nothing was lacking at That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge—the food quality and flavor, and even the mood created by the space! Looking around while we ate, I saw all kinds of guests: friends getting together, families dining out with children, and groups in the private room. Seeing it for myself convinced me that it’s a can’t-go-wrong choice not only for a date with your partner, but for any kind of gathering!
I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants delicious pasta and steak along with a beautifully atmospheric setting in Ansan Jungang-dong~~ Please give it a visit! 🤍
