Nampo-dong sushi restaurant with yaki udon: Moshi Moshi Sushi

In short

Moshi Moshi Sushi Lotte Department Store Gwangbok is a sushi restaurant on the 10th floor of Lotte Department Store in Nampo-dong, Busan. We added flounder to Set 4 and switched the noodle dish to yaki udon for ₩4,000, enjoying sushi, fried shrimp, salad, and soup. Verdict: an easy, satisfying lunch stop while shopping or parking in Nampo-dong.

A sushi lunch on the 10th floor of Lotte Department Store Gwangbok

While visiting Lotte Department Store Gwangbok, I stopped by Moshi Moshi Sushi in the restaurant floor on the 10th level. It is fairly close to Nampo Station and easy to find inside the department store, but most of all, the restaurant was clean and comfortable—great for lunch.

Moshi Moshi Sushi Gwangbok branch information

Moshi Moshi is a sushi specialist that has been operating in Busan for quite a long time. I heard its Busan National University branch has been running for 15 years, the Gwangbok branch for 7 years, and the Dongnae branch for 3 years, with every location directly managed. Maybe that is why the flavor feels consistent from branch to branch. Since the Nampo branch is inside a department store, it is an easy visit for anyone looking for a Nampo Station lunch spot with convenient parking.

A generous spread with Set 4 and extra flounder

That day, we ordered Set 4 (18 sushi pieces + fried shrimp + yaki udon) and added one à la carte order of flounder. It is meant for two to three people, and it was nice for sharing a bit of everything. It was a generous spread: not just sushi, but salad, tofu salad, and jangguk (clear soup) as well.

When I eat sushi, I prefer having a good variety instead of sticking to just one kind, so I really like sets like this. It included lots of things I enjoy—flounder, salmon, tuna, eel, shrimp, and yukhoe (seasoned raw beef)—so it was fun choosing them one by one.

Mild flounder and my favorite, salmon

You know how, when eating sushi, you always end up wanting a piece of mild flounder? I had been curious because other reviews also introduced the flounder as a popular sushi option, and I was satisfied.

Personally, salmon is my absolute favorite, and I loved its soft, rich flavor. I always have at least one salmon piece when I go to a sushi restaurant, and it was delicious this time too.

The tuna had such a soft texture that it practically melted away in my mouth. It had a different appeal from the flounder and salmon. The shrimp had a springy bite, so having a piece between the fish sushi was fun too. The eel, with its sweet sauce, gave a completely different feel from the fish sushi. I also liked that there was sushi topped with yukhoe, not only fish sushi.

Crispy fried shrimp and the yaki udon switch

The set also came with fried shrimp. It was seriously so crispy—totally the kind of flavor that makes you crave a beer. There was more than I expected, but it never became too much, so I really want to say: definitely order it.

When choosing the noodle dish, we switched to yaki udon (stir-fried udon) for ₩4,000, and I think it was a great decision. At first, I debated just having regular udon, but we decided to make the switch.

Yaki udon substitution option

The seasoning had soaked into the noodles beautifully, and it was so good eaten with the vegetables and seafood. It had a slightly sweet-and-savory quality that reminded me of takoyaki, which suited my taste perfectly. Honestly, next time I want to come back just for this.

If you keep eating only sushi, it can start to feel a little rich, so we had salad in between and enjoyed the warm jangguk too. Overall, with several dishes on one table, it was nice to eat slowly while chatting. That is why I thought it would also be a good choice for a family meal or a lunch appointment with friends.

An easy Nampo-dong lunch without a break time

I also liked that the Gwangbok branch of Moshi Moshi does not have a separate break time. It is near the office area, so I visited during lunch, and we could eat comfortably without feeling rushed. Naver Booking and phone reservations are available too, so it seems like a good place for gatherings.

Visiting the restaurant floor at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok

Whenever I am around Nampo-dong, I like eating inside the department store. Parking is convenient, and after the meal it is easy to go straight to shopping or looking around, so I find myself choosing it when I have plans. If you are looking for lunch near Nampo-dong and are craving neat, fresh sushi or Japanese food, I recommend Moshi Moshi Sushi.
