Ansan Korean BBQ weekend lunch set with naengmyeon: Yangsimso

I was looking for delicious meat in Ansan and ended up visiting Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch.

It was my first visit, but the meat was delicious and the atmosphere was great, so I was happy overall! It had a clean, stylish feel and even private rooms, making it a nice choice for a date, family dinner, or group work gathering. I’d recommend it for great beef in Ansan.

Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch hours and parking

The restaurant is open daily from 11:00 to 22:30, and parking is available. You can park free for 2 hours on B1 of the FrauM City building; if it is full, they recommend the public parking lot behind Shinwon Plaza. It costs ₩600 for the first 30 minutes, ₩1,500 for 1 hour, and ₩3,300 for 2 hours.

A clean restaurant with a lovely atmosphere

The interior felt clean and stylish.

It opened this year, and everything was comfortably maintained, making it easy to enjoy a meal. The main dining hall had a nice atmosphere too.

There were private rooms further inside as well, so it looked great for visiting with a larger group.

We made a reservation before visiting, and I liked the neatly set table from the very first impression. Taste matters when choosing a barbecue restaurant, but I also pay attention to the atmosphere and seating—and Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch delivered on all of that too!

Side dishes, sauces, and the weekend lunch special

The table was neatly prepared with flavorful side dishes that went well with the meat, including kimchi, shredded scallions, and salad.

There was also a good variety of sauces to enjoy with the meat or dip into according to your taste. Since this is a place where you can have both beef and pork, there was a wide range of menu choices, but we ordered the lunch special that day.

The lunch special we chose was the marinated galbisal (boneless beef rib meat) and naengmyeon set! What I especially liked was that the lunch special is available on weekends as well as weekdays. It seemed like a nice spot for a relaxed weekend lunch. Just note that it can be ordered for two or more people.

Tender marinated beef rib meat with a rich meaty flavor

Not long after ordering, the prettily red marinated beef rib meat arrived first.

We put the meat on the grill and cooked it up—it looked so delicious even before tasting it.

Once the rib meat was nicely browned, I tried it and loved how rich its own meaty flavor was without the marinade being too strong. It was not overly sweet or salty, just nicely balanced to let the beef flavor come through. Most of all, the meat was tender and delicious.

I kept reaching for it, pairing each piece with side dishes and dipping it in sauce. It was my first time at this Ansan barbecue restaurant, and I really enjoyed it.

A refreshing pairing of mul naengmyeon and beef

After we had eaten some of the marinated beef rib meat, the mul naengmyeon (cold noodles in chilled broth) we ordered arrived too. It was cool and refreshing, perfect for clearing the palate after the meat.

I thought it was interesting that the vinegar and mustard came in individual packets. It felt hygienic, which I liked.

Having well-grilled marinated beef rib meat with the cool naengmyeon was, of course, such a good combination. Meat alone might have felt a little lacking, but adding the noodles made it a much more filling meal. Looking at the photos makes me want it again...

I saw the bomb gyeran-jjim (fluffy steamed egg) and ordered it as an extra. It was puffed up and soft, great alongside the meat, and so gentle that I kept eating it without even noticing... haha. If you love steamed egg, I recommend ordering it with your barbecue.

For dates, family gatherings, and work dinners

At Yangsimso, ordering beef seems to come with yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) and doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew) as complimentary service,

while ordering pork seems to come with yukhoe bibimbap and doenjang-jjigae. How amazing is that?!

Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch has delicious meat, of course, but the restaurant itself is clean and has a great atmosphere, so I think it would work for dates, family gatherings, and company dinners alike. It is also conveniently located from Jungang Station, so I recommend it to anyone looking for good food near Jungang Station!

A thoughtful finish with dessert

After our meal, we joined the review event and received dessert ice cream too. Finishing delicious barbecue with cool, sweet ice cream was such a nice, refreshing touch.

And when I was leaving, I saw that they had not only candies but also floss and mouthwash available. Such thoughtful consideration for guests right to the end! Details like these made the meal feel even more satisfying. It was my first visit, but I was happy overall with everything from the food to the atmosphere and service at Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch. The meat was delicious and the restaurant was clean, so I’d love to visit again.
