It's a 5-minute walk from Gajeong Station Exit 4, right at the entrance of the Ruwon City food alley, so it's not hard to find. If you're driving, you can park at 3M Tower, the building the restaurant is in, and they generously cover up to 3 hours, so you can visit without stressing about parking.

Group tables and baby chairs — easy for family dinners
This place is already well known as a Ruwon City BBQ spot, so much so that if you visit during dinner or weekend peak hours, it's packed and you might even have to wait. Seating ranges from tables of four up to group tables that fit up to eight, so I'd recommend booking ahead for group visits. Baby chairs are of course available too, so it's a stress-free spot for family dinners!
Pork neck for two at ₩44,000, with egg soufflé and mukbap included
You order from the tablet at your table, and the signature dishes at this Ruwon City restaurant are naturally the Jirisan black pork neck, pork belly, and the combo platter where you get both. I'd tried the combo before and it was way too much food, so this time I ordered pork neck for two (₩44,000). On top of that, steamed egg soufflé and mukbap come as standard side dishes — that's about as good a deal as it gets!

As soon as you order, the staff pre-grill the meat for you, so I didn't have to stand over the fire flipping every piece myself — really convenient. Plus they grill it over high heat on charcoal until it's crisp outside and juicy inside, so you can trust it tastes like something an expert grilled.

Handmade side dishes and self-serve bar
The side dish lineup isn't to be underestimated either. Except for the wild garlic and kimchi, everything is handmade! Making each sauce and side from scratch is no small feat — meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) from Yeonggwang in Jeolla-do, house-made doenjang (fermented soybean paste), a handmade cabbage sauce, and even Sinan sun-dried salt aged over 5 years to remove bitterness. It's a Ruwon City restaurant that clearly put real effort into the combinations that bring out the meat's flavor.

If you need more side dishes, you can just grab them yourself from the self-serve bar, so there's no need to keep calling a server and waiting — another really convenient touch.

Whole mushrooms and meljeot grilled with that charcoal ambiance~ Adding chopped cheongyang chili and garlic to the meljeot makes it even tastier.
Whole pork neck, grilled start to finish for you
Here's the whole pork neck cut they grilled for us today. Even at a glance the thickness of this black pork is no joke~ that bright pink color and look — how could it not be delicious?
Since the meat arrives already cooked through, it's cut up and arranged nicely for eating right away. Being grilled and served start to finish like this made it genuinely so easy.
On top of that, the fluffy steamed egg soufflé included as standard! It's made with three jumbo eggs, so it has that heavy, dense texture — you could fill up on just this alone~

Another signature of this Ruwon City restaurant, the mukbap! The broth is made by boiling ox bones directly, so the savory depth is absolutely top tier.

Cheers
How could you not have a drink with this? At ₩44,000 including the egg soufflé and mukbap, Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul is great value too~

With the signature pork neck, biting in gives you that burst of juice, and it's also delicious cut in half and wrapped in lettuce. The moist, tender cross-section of the pork neck shows at a glance just how skilled the owner is at grilling.

Finish it off with doenjang sul-bap
The doenjang sul-bap (rice mixed with house-made fermented soybean paste and fried on the grill) made with their own homemade doenjang is rich and savory — it's a dish I always order whenever I come to this Ruwon City BBQ spot. Once it cools down a bit, put it on the charcoal grill and eat it as a drinking snack, it's seriously good, highly recommend!! The owner clearly takes real pride in the meat, and that confidence comes through in the taste, so this is a place you can trust. There's a reason places this busy get busy — friendly staff, an owner who's serious about the meat, and great taste and atmosphere all around, Heukdwaeji Hyeongjedeul is a top pick for eating out!
