Seohae Korean BBQ restaurant for grandparents: Suksung Myeongjak
In short
Suksung Myeongjak Cheongna is a Korean beef restaurant in Seohae, Incheon. I visited with my grandmother, grandfather, and mom for expertly grilled Korean beef, unexpectedly excellent uni, grilled cheese, and Pyongyang naengmyeon. Verdict: a satisfying choice for a special meal with elders.

I’d known about this great Korean beef spot in Cheongna for ages, and I finally made it there. The four of us visited with my grandmother, grandfather, and mom, and seeing my grandparents enjoy it so much made me happy too.
How are the location and parking?
The address is 14 Damji-ro 8beon-gil, 1F, Seohae-gu, Incheon. Hours are 17:00–22:00 daily, with last orders at 21:00, and it is regularly closed on Sundays.

You can make reservations through Catchtable, and I heard it has been selected by the Blue Ribbon Survey for seven consecutive years.

There was plenty of parking space in front of the restaurant, so it did not feel burdensome even when bringing elders along. They said parking support is available for up to four hours.
A quiet atmosphere that is great for taking parents
The first thing I felt upon entering was how upscale the atmosphere was. There are group tables as well as separate tables for two to four people, so seating seems to be assigned well according to party size.
It is not completely enclosed, but the layout still feels subtly private, making it perfect for bringing your parents. It is a great Cheongna restaurant for special occasions such as Parents’ Day or a birthday.

Especially when I take my grandmother and grandfather out, a quiet restaurant is best, and this place met those conditions exactly. I thought it was a really good place to treat elders to nourishing Korean beef.
The Korean beef and side dishes we ordered

- Suksung Myeongjak striploin, 1 serving (150 g): ₩58,000
- Suksung Myeongjak tenderloin, 3 servings (150 g × 3): ₩58,000 each
- Sea urchin roe (uni, 100 g): ₩49,000
- Suksung Myeongjak yukhoe (Korean beef tartare): ₩35,000
- Grilled cheese (100 g): ₩15,000
- Pyongyang naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), broth: ₩12,000
- Spicy seafood doenjang-juk (soybean-paste rice porridge): ₩9,000
We also had one grapefruit ade and one hibiscus ade alongside the meal.
Korean beef and uni with professional grilling

Even the banchan (Korean side dishes) were really neat and well done. The salad was fresh and delicious, and the doenjang-jjigae (soybean-paste stew) served with it had a pleasantly spicy kick that was great for waking up the appetite. The wasabi was premium fresh wasabi too, and its just-right sharpness went so well with the Korean beef.

They grill the meat with professional skill, and it was juicy and felt like it gently melted in the mouth. Even the striploin was so tender that it felt almost like tenderloin, and every cut was tender, savory, and fresh regardless of the part.
And although this is a Korean beef specialty restaurant, the quality of the sea urchin roe was genuinely unexpected.

My grandfather even said it was the best thing here. I love uni too, and it was the freshest and richest uni I have had recently.

The yukhoe was excellent too, needless to say. The seasoning was not overpowering, but the beef itself was such good quality that it just melted away.

The ades were nicely refreshing for cleansing the palate.

If you visit, I definitely recommend ordering the grilled cheese. It had a rich milk flavor, while the outside was crisp and savory—so delicious.

It must have been an unfamiliar menu item for my grandfather, but he said it was so good.

For reference, my grandfather is from North Korea and loves naengmyeon, and even after eating that much meat, he polished off a whole bowl of Pyongyang naengmyeon here.

The doenjang-juk was quite spicy with a deep seafood flavor, so it was perfect as the finishing dish.

When you visit for an anniversary, they provide a slice of cake on the house. Even the cake was soft and nutty, so I was satisfied right through to the end.
Final thoughts on this anniversary Korean beef meal
I was surprised that the amount of beef was more generous than I expected. It is on the expensive side, but considering the quality, it almost felt inexpensive instead. Korean beef is not automatically delicious just because it is Korean beef, but this place was really, really good. They grill it skillfully, and the meat itself is truly outstanding, so I recommend coming here to properly treat your parents on a special day such as Parents’ Day or their birthday!!!!!
