Busan seafood restaurant set with ankimo: The Bangpaje

Today I went to Busan with a friend! We were wondering what to have for dinner, and since we both loooove sashimi, we looked up seafood restaurants and ended up at The Bangpaje, famous as a Gwanganri seafood restaurant and a great spot in Millak-dong‼️ The reviews said it was already well known around Gwanganri, so I was even more excited—and apparently it has been listed in the Blue Ribbon Survey for four consecutive years.

From Gwangalli Beach to The Bangpaje

I set off from Busan Station and took bus 41! It should take about 10 minutes on foot from Gwangalli Beach. It is near Millak The Market.

It is at 24 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro 294beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, and open daily from 11:30 to 22:00. Break time is 15:00–17:00. You can receive parking support at Mariland Parking Lot; at Millak Public Parking Lot, support is available for 1 hour with an à la carte order and 2 hours with a course.

From private rooms to a banquet hall

Inside The Bangpaje, the Gwanganri seafood restaurant, there are table seats on the first floor, private dining rooms on the second, and a dining banquet hall on the third that is suited to group events. It is such a satisfying Gwanganri spot for group gatherings, work dinners, or dates, too!

Ordering the small Hansang Set for ₩58,000

The menu had easy individual meals such as salmon rice bowls, assorted sashimi rice bowls, mulhoe (chilled raw-fish soup), abalone rice bowls, and seafood bibimbap, along with course meals and hansang set meals. I decided on the small Hansang Set (₩58,000)!

Warm sungnyung (scorched-rice tea) comes out first, and it is one of those little things that you always end up having... is that just me? I loved how it warmed my stomach 😊

After a short wait, the whole spread arrives like this (heart pounding). There is assorted sashimi, spicy fish stew, and six other dishes.

There was aged kimchi and all these house-made sauces... That mushroom jang (seasoned sauce)? Especially delicious!

Marinated shrimp, grilled fish, ankimo, sweet potato tempura, seasoned raw crab, and futomaki. That is what comes with the Hansang Set. The table was so loaded that my eyes went wide—very satisfied,,,,,,,🐷

Chewy, thick-cut assorted sashimi

They also give you sea cucumber and sea squirt like this‼️ They look incredibly fresh, right? Look at that color (firmly). Even someone who knows nothing about sashimi could tell The Bangpaje uses fresh seafood... They even explained the cuts. So kind~ 😖

Carbs before sashimi, of course. It was futomaki, but light rather than heavy, so it was great before the meal!

That chewy-looking sashimi... I fully 인정 this as a Gwanganri and Millak-dong favorite,,,,,,,, I was eating sashimi from the morning and it was so good I almost passed out. Chewy, fresh, and not thin at all—the texture was insane.

Can you see how thick this sashimi is? Hahahahahaha. I kept exclaiming every time I ate a piece... I want to come here every time I visit Busan. For ₩58,000, I want to give it 100 Blue Ribbons. Please take my ribbon too, owner!!!🐷🐷

The shrimp and basically every dish were delicious, so I ate while constantly being amazed... The sea squirt and sea cucumber were, of course, reaaally fresh too.

And ankimo!!!!!!!!!! This was my first time really trying it, and I was honestly surprised by how delicious it was. The outside is seaweed, and peeling it apart to wrap and eat together made it such a special treat... At first my friend and I did not know what it was—liver...? roe...?—but then we found out it was ankimo. Ankimo saved ✨

Even the final spicy fish stew was simply flawless... Its super-rich broth was a work of art. The flavor was truly rich and deep. A perfect ending 👍

We were so full that we left a tiny bit of sashimi, but afterward I could not believe how much I regretted it,,,,,🥲 I will give you another Blue Ribbon!!!!!!!! Totally 인정 as a Gwanganri favorite‼️🐷🫶

With its seafood Hansang Set served alongside assorted sashimi and private spaces divided by floor, The Bangpaje is such a great Gwanganri spot for dates, work dinners, and gatherings! I recommend it 🥰
