Suyeong restaurant with ocean-view Bolognese pasta: Working Holiday Minrak

The weather was honestly so nice today. It had been so hot until just a few weeks ago, but today the breeze was cool and the sky was clear—it really felt like the start of autumn. On a day like this, you just do not want to stay home, haha. My friend said, “A Working Holiday Minrak branch opened—let’s go!” so we headed to Gwangalli together.

A cool-day walk to Gwangalli

I took bus 62 from Suyeong, got off at Gwangalli Entrance, and walked a little. Normally I would have just hurried to my destination, but the weather was so nice that simply walking felt good. The cool breeze even made it feel like an autumn stroll for no reason. I think the Gwangalli area always has an even better atmosphere when the weather is nice. Chatting about this and that with my friend, we soon arrived at Working Holiday Minrak (워킹홀리데이 민락).

Working Holiday Minrak is on the seventh floor of Badamaru at 29 Millaksubyeon-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan.

Since it is on the seventh floor of the Badamaru building, we took the elevator up. The moment we walked in, I liked it because the space was bigger than I expected—and above all, my friend and I saw the view outside the window and immediately went, “Wow, what is this view?” haha.

Maybe because it was on the seventh floor, the view felt completely open. Seeing the sea and Gwangan Bridge all at once made me feel so refreshed. On a day like today, with clear skies and cool weather, the scene outside the window looked even prettier.

It is nice to eat close to the sea in Gwangalli, but seeing it from a slightly higher spot had a different feeling. With the ocean stretching out so widely, I naturally kept looking out the window while we ate. We came for a meal, then got swept up in the atmosphere and felt like sitting there for ages, haha. The interior was clean overall and had a really nice feel, too. It was fairly spacious with plenty of tables, so it looked like a comfortable place to visit and eat with friends.

I thought it would have a nice atmosphere for a date, too, and would suit anyone visiting Gwangalli who wants a more relaxed meal. Above all, it did not feel closed in at all; the view opened right out toward the sea, so simply sitting there made me happy ✨ The staff were kind as well. They helped us comfortably, so ordering felt easy and pressure-free.

What is the parking support like?

If you are visiting by car, you can use the underground parking lot behind the Badamaru building. I was told that purchases of ₩10,000 or more receive one hour of parking support, up to a maximum of four hours per day. If you are driving to the Gwangalli area, it may be helpful to keep the parking details in mind beforehand.

Pizza and pasta to share with a friend

Since there were two of us, we decided to order one pizza and one pasta to share. They are both menus we usually like, so choosing did not take long, haha. Even before the food came, I think we kept looking out the window and saying, “This place is really nice.” Atmosphere really does play a part in a meal.

Margherita pizza with a thin crust I loved

The Margherita pizza came out first. Maybe because the view was so good, the food looked even more appetizing when it arrived. It came warm, topped with tomatoes and cheese, and looked clean and simple overall. The crust was much thinner than I expected, too. I personally prefer thin pizza to thick crust, so I actually liked that. Even when I order Domino’s, I only get thin-crust pizza.

Because the crust was not thick, one slice felt less like eating lots of bread and let the toppings and cheese come through more. Eaten warm, the cheese was soft and the fresh tang of the tomatoes came through too, making it easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. True to a Margherita, rather than being loaded with lots of things, the tomato, cheese, and thin crust made for a clean combination 🍅 They will bring pickles if you ask. Having one while eating pizza freshened up my mouth, and it really went well with it.

Bolognese pasta with a meaty richness

Next was the Bolognese pasta. It was tomato-based pasta with a meaty richness, so it paired well with the pizza. The sauce coated the noodles well, and it tasted better eaten with the sauce rather than having the noodles on their own. Instead of the tomato acidity standing out too strongly, it also had a deep savory flavor from the meat, so it was comfortable to eat overall.

Since the pizza was thin and lightly flavored, having pasta in between kept the meal from becoming one-note, which was nice. We would have a slice of pizza, a bite of pasta, then pizza again, and before we knew it, we kept reaching for more, haha.

We also ordered Coke Zero with the pizza and pasta. A sip of something fizzy freshened up my mouth, so it went well with the food. If two people are visiting, ordering one pizza and one pasta to share like we did seems like a good option.

The sea view stayed with me longer than the food

Honestly, the food was good, but the view is what I remember most from that day. The weather was just that nice. Even though it was early September, there was an especially autumn-like breeze that day, and the Gwangalli sea felt even prettier. Looking out at the water gave an ordinary meal a slightly different feeling. Eating something delicious with my friend, talking about this and that, and looking at the sea every now and then. Times like these can seem like nothing much, but when you think back on them, they quietly stay with you for a long time.

I think anyone looking for a restaurant with sea views in Gwangalli would enjoy this atmosphere. Rather than a place where you quickly eat and leave, it felt like somewhere nice to sit for a while, talk with a friend, and enjoy the view outside.

After visiting myself

Working Holiday Minrak was more spacious than I expected, and above all, the view was truly great. Seeing Gwangan Bridge and the sea all at once, I can still remember that open, refreshed feeling from the moment I walked in. We had the Margherita pizza and Bolognese pasta, and both were good for sharing with a friend; the thin-crust pizza especially suited my taste.

And the weather really did a lot that day. Even after we finished eating, the breeze was so cool that I wanted to walk around Gwangalli a little more. My friend said a new place had opened, so I followed along and found it, but I think I will remember it as a good route for eating in Gwangalli and then taking a walk on a nice day 😊 If I make plans in Gwangalli again, I think it will come to mind. Especially on a day like today, with clear skies and a cool breeze, I think you could really enjoy the atmosphere 🍂

The delicious pizza and pasta were great, but what I loved most was being able to eat at a relaxed pace while looking at Gwangan Bridge and the sea.
