Suyeong café for croissant salmon eggs Benedict: Working Holiday Minrak

While looking for a brunch café in Gwangalli, my friend and I visited Working Holiday Minrak first thing in the morning. The ocean view looking right out at Gwangan Bridge and the tasty brunch made it a particularly memorable stop on my Busan trip. Since I had done a working holiday in Australia, everything from the café name to the Working Holiday message written on the coffee felt oddly welcoming ☕️🌊

Working Holiday Minrak location and parking

Working Holiday Minrak is right in front of the Gwangalli sea! It is in the building at the far end of the Millak Raw Fish Center street, so it is easy to stop by while walking along Gwangalli Beach. You can also use the building’s underground parking lot.

It is about a 20-minute walk from Gwangan Station! If you are only using public transport, taking a bus or taxi as well is more convenient. The building at 29 Millaksuyeon-ro is right by the sea, so it was not hard to find once we arrived. We visited in the morning and walked straight in without waiting. Maybe because it was morning, the café felt fairly relaxed, and it was nice for the two of us to sit and take our time choosing from the menu. Hours are 09:00–22:30 daily, with last orders at 22:00.

Best of all, it is on the seventh floor, so the sea view that greeted us as soon as we went up was really beautiful. If you are looking for ocean-view brunch in Gwangalli, Working Holiday Minrak won me over from the location alone.

Ordering the Big Brekkie and salmon eggs Benedict

The two of us ordered the Big Brekkie for ₩24,000 and salmon eggs Benedict for ₩20,000, then chose a latte for ₩6,000 and an iced Americano for ₩6,500. The total came to ₩56,500.

The Big Brekkie came with lots of things on one plate, making it a filling breakfast, and the soft eggs and salmon went really well together in the salmon eggs Benedict.

I especially liked the salmon eggs Benedict with the bread changed to a croissant. Having the salmon and egg together on a crisp croissant went well with coffee, too. If you are only looking to sort out one breakfast meal, though, it might feel a little pricey haha.

Considering the view of Gwangan Bridge and the atmosphere, I felt it was somewhere worth visiting at least once on a Busan trip. (The view was so pretty and the food was so good that I fell for itㅠㅠ)

Seventh-floor ocean views of Gwangan Bridge

My favorite thing about Working Holiday Minrak was, of course, the Gwangan Bridge view.

Once we went up to the seventh floor, the view opened right up: Gwangalli’s sea stretched out wide, with Gwangan Bridge all in one glance.

Sitting across from my friend and eating brunch with the sea outside the window felt completely different from an ordinary café breakfast. The atmosphere inside was quite exotic, too.

With its wood-toned interior and travel-destination feel, it really made me feel like I was in Busan, while also giving me a little of that overseas-brunch feeling. It was great for photos and for sitting with a friend and chatting for a long time.

We got in without waiting in the morning, but I recommend arriving a little early if you want a good window seat.

Why the name Working Holiday felt so familiar

Actually, there was one point that was as fun for me that day as the food and the view: the name Working Holiday. I had also done a working holiday in Australia before, so

the café name felt familiar from the moment I first saw it, and seeing the words Working Holiday written on the coffee made me even happier haha.

For me, someone who wanted to have brunch somewhere pretty while traveling in Busan with a friend, this place was absolutely perfect!! So if someone asks me for a Gwangalli café recommendation, I think I would tell people looking for somewhere with a great view about Working Holiday Minrak.

If you want to enjoy a leisurely brunch while looking at Gwangan Bridge from the morning in Busan, visit at least once. For me, this was a Gwangalli café I would recommend because it brought back delicious brunch, the beautiful sea, and working-holiday memories all at once.
