Suyeong Korean BBQ restaurant date night: Bisyoku Gwangan
In short
Bisyoku Gwangan Branch is a charcoal-grilled meat restaurant in Suyeong, Busan, with a Japanese-inspired setting. At counter seating, I slowly enjoyed 200g premium sirloin and 300g thin-sliced pork belly grilled by the staff, with salt, wasabi, and highballs. Verdict: a great fit for a relaxed, atmospheric dinner and drinks date in Gwangalli.

I was looking for somewhere in Gwangalli to have dinner and a casual drink when Bisyoku Gwangan Branch (비쇼쿠 광안점) caught my eye for its atmosphere. Even from a distance, it had the unmistakable feel of a Japanese restaurant, with an exterior striking enough to make you look twice as you passed by. The staff grill the meat for you, and it was lovely to take things slowly with a highball, so I remember it as a good choice not only for anyone looking for a good restaurant in Gwangalli but also for a Gwangalli date spot for drinks.

A Japanese-inspired entrance that carries through
From the building exterior alone, Bisyoku Gwangan Branch brought restaurants in Japan to mind. The building is finished largely in dark wood, with Japanese-style ornaments and lighting above the entrance, making the mood very distinct.

In particular, instead of stepping straight into the dining room, you enter along a gravel path.

With the lanterns hung above the entrance, trees, and gravel path all in view, it felt briefly as though I had stepped into another space despite being in the city. There were chairs outside too, and I liked how the overall concept continued naturally into the building. If you choose Gwangalli restaurants for the atmosphere as much as the food, this is a place with a fun first impression.
A calm, warm interior

Inside is the first-floor dining room, divided into counter-style seating and tables for four. I sat at the counter that day. Like the exterior, the interior centered on dark wood tones, while bamboo details and warm lighting created an overall calm feeling.

It is not an extremely brightly lit restaurant, so the mood suited having a drink with dinner in the evening. Rather than feeling overly decorated, it naturally expressed a Japanese-inspired atmosphere through wood and lighting, which made it comfortable to sit for a while. That atmosphere makes it a good match for anyone seeking a Gwangalli date bar where they can enjoy a meal and drinks slowly in one place.
The 500g Kind Asashi Set

The menu I ordered that day was the 500g “Kind (Asashi) Set.” It came with 200g of premium sirloin and 300g of thin-sliced pork belly. Once the meat arrived, the set felt more generous than I had expected.

The sirloin was red meat with visible marbling, while the pork belly came thinly sliced. Vegetables for grilling were prepared on the plate too, making them easy to enjoy between bites of meat. Best of all, there was a charcoal brazier right in front of the table, and the staff grilled the meat themselves. It was quietly comforting to be able to chat and wait without worrying about when to turn anything.
Meat grilled right over the charcoal brazier
As the thin meat began to cook over the glowing charcoal brazier, a rich, savory aroma rose immediately. Since the staff grilled each piece at just the right moment, all I had to do was eat the cooked meat straight away.
The premium sirloin was nice for enjoying the flavor of the meat itself, while the thin-sliced pork belly was easy to eat without feeling too heavy thanks to its thinness.

I tried it dipped in salt and with a little wasabi, and personally, I thought these simple pairings suited the meat well. Rather than adding a strong seasoning, they let me enjoy the meat as it was, so I kept reaching for more. Along with the pleasure of eating meat grilled for me right away, it stayed in my memory as a good Gwangalli restaurant.
Even better with a highball
It felt a little incomplete to have only meat, so I had a highball that day too. A sip of cold highball alongside the warmly grilled meat worked together better than I had expected.

Especially after simply seasoned meat with salt or wasabi, the highball freshened my palate so I could move on to the next bite without feeling weighed down. Rather than somewhere to rush through a meal and leave, Bisyoku felt better suited to a flow of enjoying the lighting and atmosphere, eating meat, and having a drink. Personally, it is worth considering when you want a Gwangalli date bar with a proper meat menu too.
When you want to enjoy the atmosphere in Gwangalli too

Bisyoku Gwangan Branch had a clearly defined concept from its exterior through to its interior, and the staff-grilled meat over the charcoal brazier was convenient too. I liked being able to try premium sirloin and thin-sliced pork belly in one set, as well as the combination of simply seasoned meat with salt and wasabi alongside a highball.

Above all, if atmosphere matters as much as flavor when choosing a Gwangalli restaurant, Bisyoku’s distinctive feel will likely suit you well. If you want to have dinner on a date and linger over a drink afterward, it could be worth adding to your list of Gwangalli date bars.
For me, the whole experience was quite satisfying, from the gravel-path entrance to the warmly lit interior and the meat grilled right over the charcoal brazier. If you are looking for a meat restaurant in Gwangalli with an atmosphere a little different from the usual, it is worth visiting at least once!
