Last weekend the weather was so nice, right? ☀️ So I went on a drive-slash-date after a long while. This time I visited a brunch spot in Tangjeong, Asan called "When You Bite." Let's get into it! 😊

⌚Hours Wed–Sun (09:30 ~ 19:00) (Closed every Mon–Tue) (Last order: 18:00) 🚙Parking Roadside parking Tangjeong-myeon public parking lot

Where to park at When You Bite
🚙 Parking info! Looking at the alley around the shop, it had a white solid line marking, so roadside parking was possible. We parked comfortably right near the store and went in.

There's also a Tangjeong-myeon public parking lot right next to the store, so if parking is tight, you could use that instead.

Seating inside the store
🏠 Inside, the store had tables divided into 2-person, 4-person, and group seating. Overall, 4-person tables were the most common, and there was also group seating for 6 or more. It seemed good both for a date and for visiting with several people.

The menu and drinks — what we ordered
📋 Menu info! The menu was more varied than expected. From steak and BBQ pork ribs to pasta, risotto, and sandwiches, there was a wide range of brunch dishes to choose from.

📋 Drink info! The drinks were also varied — coffee, tea, ades, juices. We agonized for a while over what to order and finally picked our menu!
What we ordered was
- 🥘 Signature lasagna ₩21,000
- 🍝 Bacon carbonara ₩18,500
- ☕ Iced americano ₩4,500
That's what we ordered! While waiting for the food, we looked around the store a bit, and there were a few eye-catching spots.

There was a display case decorated stylishly with food ingredients, and on one side wines were lined up on display — these little touches gave the store a nice atmosphere.

On another side there were awards from competitions along with what looked like autographs from celebrities. I'm not great with recognizing celebrities... 😂 If anyone knows who they are, let me know in the comments! haha

While we passed the time looking around the store, our dishes started coming out one by one. Ta-da~ 😆 The signature lasagna, bacon carbonara, and iced americano! Once it was all laid out, it looked more generous than expected.

How was the signature lasagna?
🥘 Signature lasagna First, we tried the signature lasagna. The harmony between the lasagna and sauce was really good — especially when I scooped up a generous amount of sauce for a full bite, the sauce's rich flavor came through strongly in my mouth. It felt like the lasagna itself and the sauce really came together. After tasting it, I understood why it's called "signature" 😋 It was a very satisfying dish for our taste!

The bacon carbonara wasn't a cream pasta
🍝 Bacon carbonara Next was the bacon carbonara! As noted on the menu, it was a bit different from the usual cream-based carbonara. It's an authentic carbonara style, so if you order it expecting a cream pasta, it might feel a little different. We actually enjoyed being able to try something different.
Above all, it was loaded with bacon, so every bite carried the distinct savory, salty flavor of bacon.
Bread also came out with the dish. At first I thought, "how am I supposed to eat this?" but dipping the bread into the pasta's salty sauce turned out to be a better combination than I expected 😋 The sauce soaked into the bread nicely, giving a different feel from the pasta itself. Well, as long as it tastes good, however you eat it works, right? lol
As we happily shared the lasagna and carbonara, our plates were almost completely clean before we knew it 😋 Both dishes had their own charm, so ordering them together and sharing let us enjoy a wider variety. With nice weather for a drive and a delicious brunch on top, it was a great way to enjoy a relaxed date 😊 So, to wrap up, here's what I thought of When You Bite in Asan Tangjeong!
Final thoughts
⭐ Final thoughts ⭐ If you're looking for brunch in Asan Tangjeong, I recommend When You Bite. The signature lasagna had great harmony and depth of flavor with its sauce, and the bacon carbonara offered a refreshing change from the usual cream pasta with its authentic carbonara style. The atmosphere was comfortable too, making it a good place for a relaxed meal on a weekend drive date. The lasagna especially was something I personally enjoyed, and I'd want to order it again next time 😊 If you're looking to enjoy brunch in a nice-atmosphere spot in Asan Tangjeong, I'd recommend giving it a visit!
