Hi everyone, I'm Torygom, sharing places worth visiting and good food I've tried in person. When you want to enjoy a relaxed weekend morning or a nice break on a weekday afternoon, brunch is always the first thing that comes to mind.
Today I visited a place in Tangjeong, Asan that has it all — a pretty plant-filled interior, excellent food, and thoughtful care for customers. Let me give you a detailed review of 'When You Bite,' a genuinely great Asan brunch café that has won the KCIA award twice.

When You Bite at a glance
- A restaurant that has twice won an excellence award in the Western food category for Asan from the Korea Consumer Industry Assessment.
- A place known for its fresh plant-filled interior mixed with wine decor.
- A yes-kids-zone café fully equipped with baby chairs and a diaper-changing station.
- High-quality Western dishes including egg Benedict with a beautiful poached egg, truffle cream gnocchi, and pesce.

Hours, exterior, and terrace seating
The whole storefront of When You Bite is made of large windows, so you can feel the warm, cozy atmosphere even from outside. There's also a cute outdoor terrace out front, perfect for sitting in the sun on a nice day.
Hours are 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with last order at 6:00 PM. It's closed every Monday and Tuesday, so be sure to check before you go! There was a 'Good Influence Store' mark at the entrance, which made me like the place even more before I even walked in.

Inside: an arched partition and greenery everywhere
Walking inside, the first thing that greets you is lush greenery. Pots filled beyond a charming arched partition wall, along with plants scattered throughout the space, blend beautifully with the marble-patterned tables to create an atmosphere that's both upscale and easy on the eyes.

Baby chairs and a diaper-changing station
What really moved me was the thoughtful care for customers with children. Sturdy high chairs were set up by the window, and near the restroom, there was a very neatly installed diaper-changing station.

If you're looking for a Tangjeong brunch café that's great for dining out with young children, I really strongly recommend this place.
Awards and the wine wall
On one side of the store, a display case proudly holds the '2022, 2026 KCIA Korea Consumer Industry Assessment — twice awarded excellence in Asan's Western food category' plaque. Knowing this place won recognition from a credible assessment made me look forward to the food even more.

Next to it, a wall filled with various kinds of wine adds a grand touch — it seemed like a great spot to enjoy wine on a special occasion.
Egg Benedict, ₩15,000
The first dish we ordered was the brunch classic, egg Benedict (₩15,000). On a plate with a cute 'when you bite' lettering, a delicious-looking poached egg, hollandaise sauce, and plenty of ham were piled on top — it passed the looks test right away.

When I cut the poached egg with a knife, the yolk flowed out beautifully, soaking the bread and other ingredients. The combination of the savory sauce and soft poached egg was perfect.
It was also fun dipping the crispy-outside, fluffy-inside hash browns that came on the side into ketchup, with some olives to go along.
Truffle Cream Gnocchi, ₩18,000
Next up is one of When You Bite's popular menu items, truffle cream gnocchi (₩18,000). Gnocchi perfectly pan-seared to a crispy outside and chewy inside sits generously in a rich, thick cream sauce.

The sauce's flavor was really excellent — scooping up plenty with the gnocchi, the chewy texture and fragrant truffle spread through my mouth. It comes with crispy, mild rye bread that's great for dipping into the sauce, and loading it up with the cream sauce makes it a truly perfect pairing.
Spicy Seafood Pasta, Pesce, ₩20,000
After enjoying the soft, savory cream dishes, it was time for the pesce (₩20,000) to wake up our taste buds with some spice. It's a spicy tomato-based seafood pasta loaded with plump scallops, plump shrimp, squid, and other fresh seafood.

The gentle spiciness combined with the refreshing umami from the seafood cut through the richness of the dishes we'd eaten before and brought perfect balance. It was so good I couldn't stop eating — I went on a full-blown eating frenzy!

Final thoughts
'When You Bite' in Tangjeong, Asan was a perfect Asan brunch café where you can enjoy carefully made Western dishes in a lush, plant-filled space. The food quality satisfied both eyes and taste buds, and I could feel the warm consideration for customers with the baby chairs and diaper-changing station — it made the whole visit feel really good.

If you're looking for a Tangjeong brunch café with a great atmosphere, or want to enjoy a special meal that pleases both the eyes and the palate with your loved ones or partner, I highly recommend visiting!
