Changwon Korean BBQ with a 550g minari platter: Hanpanjip
In short
Hanpanjip Changwon Gaeum Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Changwon, Gyeongnam. I had the 550g small minari platter with pork belly, pork neck, pork skin, six sauces, and soybean paste stew. Having the meat grilled and brought out was so convenient and lovely, haha.

A Korean BBQ restaurant in Gaeumjeong Market that grills it for you
Gaeumjeong Market is somewhere we visit often! It is great because there are so many good places to eat! Jokbal (braised pig's trotters), chicken, bunsik (casual Korean snack foods), gopchang (beef intestines), and more tasty spots are all gathered here, making it such a nice place to visit.

This time, I visited Hanpanjip Changwon Gaeum Branch, a popular spot in Changwon's Gaeumjeong Market and a Korean BBQ restaurant that grills the meat for you!

Group company dinners, group gatherings, and family meals are all very welcome, haha. While waiting, you get a complimentary side or alcoholic drink, and if you wait over 30 minutes, you get 10% off. So good, right??????????
My favorite kind of stainless-steel table! Hanpanjip had several round tables, and even though we visited around 9 p.m., there were quite a few customers, just like you would expect from a popular place haha.

Minari platter and meal options
There were two platter options: one including minari (water celery) and one without it! They also have aged flower-cut samgyeopsal (pork belly), aged flower-cut moksal (pork neck), sangjeongsal pork, fresh pork skin, and grilled chicken neck.

There are also so many delicious meal options: rustic soybean paste stew, spicy soybean paste rice soup, spicy aged-kimchi stew, kimchi noodle soup, half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles), spicy chili seafood ramen, bibim noodles, muksabal (acorn jelly in chilled broth), and butter soy sauce egg rice. Choosing might be a little hard, haha.
Leave a receipt review and choose one of soju, soybean paste stew, or kimchi fried rice!
We ordered the small minari platter, soju, beer, soybean paste stew, and a bowl of rice.

Six sauces and the basic sides
The basic sides were set out first, and I loved how generously they came.
There were a whopping six sauces. There was a spicy sauce, too! Ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), garlic salt, curry powder, teriyaki sauce, breadcrumbs, and sesame sauce.
Green-onion kimchi, shredded radish salad, myeongi namul (pickled wild garlic leaves), wrap vegetables, and pickled radish sheets, too! I loved having so many different ways to enjoy everything.

Our soju and beer came out first, and the drinks were affordable at ₩4,500 each!
Steamed egg came as a complimentary side too, and it was seriously nutty and delicious! This place is known for steamed egg, isn't it?

How does the meat come out grilled?
Cheers with somaek (soju-beer mix) while we waited for the meat!! They were busy grilling our meat. They grill it all the way through for you, haha.

They lit the grill and placed the beautifully cooked meat on it. The meat was already fully cooked, but you can grill it a little longer without smoke or burning it, haha.

The platter included three kinds of meat: pork belly, pork neck, and pork skin. It also came with minari, bean sprouts, and kimchi!!! Having all the meat cooked for us was seriously so convenient and nice~! Meat grilled by someone else is the best, haha.

The pork belly was grilled in nice big pieces, haha.

The pork neck was moisture itself, seriously. You can grill the pork neck a little longer to suit your taste.

The grilled minari was so delicious too, and I think the kimchi had been rinsed and made a little sweet inside there—it was delicious!!!!

What the 550g minari platter tasted like
Let's dig in!!! This was the small platter, but at 550g it was really generous and plentiful. I think it is a good amount for about two to three people.
The pork belly was grilled in slightly large pieces, so I cut each piece once to make it easier to eat, haha. Cutting it in half was just right.

Of course, I had to make wraps too. Of the six sauces, the sesame sauce was my favorite. Sesame sauce + breadcrumbs + garlic + ssamjang: that combination is the absolute best.

The pork neck was super moist and juicy too, haha, and the pork skin was such a special treat!!

I made really satisfying wraps with pickled radish sheets and myeongi namul. The meat was so moist and delicious that every way of eating it was tasty, haha.

Finishing with soybean paste stew and rice
To finish, we ordered the popular soybean paste stew and polished off a bowl of rice. The stew was perhaps the kind with a little ssamjang in it? It had lots of zucchini and meat, so it had a deep flavor!

We really cleaned our plates properly. I totally, totally recommend Hanpanjip, a great spot in Gaeumjeong Market! The meat was super delicious, but having it grilled and brought out was just so convenient and nice!!
