Magok Mexican restaurant group dinner for 5: Taqueros 4-person set

Taqueros is the Mexican restaurant I end up at in Magok whenever I'm craving tacos! Somehow this is already my third visit :) The first two times were delicious, so it's already one of my trusted go-to spots in Magok. Usually I go with family, but this time I visited a bit differently — for dinner and a work get-together with coworkers.

Going for tacos with my family was nice too, but spreading out a bunch of dishes and having a beer with a group turned out to be pretty great for a company dinner too haha.

Third visit to Taqueros in Magok: can a Mexican restaurant handle a dinner for five?

That day there were 5 of us including coworkers, and we ordered the 4-person set plus a chimichanga. At first I thought, 'Isn't a 4-person set going to be a bit short for 5 people?' but we ended up really full lol.

Third time now, so Taqueros feels familiar :) Mexican food is fun because you order a bunch of different dishes and share them all together. That's why it worked so well for a work dinner or team get-together with several people, like this time.

Inside Taqueros and how QR ordering works

The red casual-diner interior gives off American Southwest or South American vibes haha.

The open kitchen is still clean and reassuring as ever :)

You can see the cooks working, and the staff keep their serving dishes spotless. Ordering is done via the QR code on the table, so we ordered right from our seats.

What's neat is that even when several of us scanned our own QR codes and added items separately, it updated instantly and everything got combined into our table's order haha.

The complimentary nachos come out first, and they're nutty and delicious haha. Perfect beer snack!

The 4-person set that filled the whole table

The table filled up in no time once the food arrived.

A sizzling platter piled high with meat and shrimp, fried rice, hefty ribs, fries, and tortillas! The fajita spread is generous, and I love that about it.

Along with all that came guacamole, salsa, jalapeños, and other fixings to add on. The charm of Mexican food is definitely wrapping up whatever you want in a tortilla and making it your own :] I put on the gloves and dug in properly haha.

Piling on plenty of meat with guacamole and salsa on top — one bite! Even with the same food, adding different sauces changes the flavor each time, which makes it more fun when you're eating with a group.

Taqueros pork ribs: the best match for draft beer

The Taqueros ribs were so tender that everyone let out a satisfied hum at first bite lol. They looked super soft too!

Something I noticed fresh on this visit: Taqueros' menu actually pairs really well as a beer snack! Since it was a work dinner, we had a cold beer — well, honestly two >_<

From the salty, savory meat to the ribs coated thick in sauce, plus the fries, the beer just kept going down easy haha.

Trying a chimichanga for the first time

This time we ordered chimichanga, and it was really good!!

That deep umami from the hearty, well-seasoned meat!

With the meat and sauce packed in, it turned out to be a better-than-expected beer pairing! It made me think a dinner of tacos, ribs, and beer could be a nice change of pace instead of the usual samgyeopsal or Korean BBQ team dinner.

Five of us eating the 4-person set plus a chimichanga left us truly stuffed haha. I liked that it wasn't just a huge pile of one dish — there was variety with meat, shrimp, fried rice, ribs, and tortillas! It was my first time trying chimichanga, and being with a group made it even better since we got to sample a bit of everything haha.

Was the third visit to Taqueros worth it?

I was already happy with the food after two visits, but coming with coworkers for the first time this time showed me it also works well as a Magok spot for a team dinner! Since the dishes are meant for sharing, it was easy to chat naturally while eating, and beyond just tacos, heartier options like the ribs and chimichanga made it a good fit for dinner plus drinks.

It pairs nicely with a beer and feels different from the usual team dinner menu, which I actually liked even more :) A satisfying choice for a company dinner too — Taqueros!
