Sindorim bossam restaurant with 3 dipping sauces: Sindorim Sambaekga

In short

Sindorim Sambaekga is a bossam and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant in Guro, Seoul, a 4-minute walk from Exit 1 of Sindorim Station. A couple ordered the Sambaek Bossam + Kalguksu Set at 42,000 won on the menu and reached most often for the garlic sauce among the three sauces served; the bossam was tender with no gamey smell and the handmade kalguksu had a clean, refreshing broth. With free rice refills, a self-bar and up to 2 hours of underground parking, Sindorim Sambaekga is an easy pick by car or on foot.

I visited Sindorim Sambaekga, where you can enjoy bossam (boiled pork wraps) and kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) together, near Sindorim Station.

Being able to taste both the plump, tender bossam and the refreshing kalguksu broth in one meal made for a really filling visit.

What the restaurant feels like inside

The interior had a bright, clean atmosphere. The tables weren't cramped, and it looked comfortable for solo diners, family meals, or office lunches and dinners alike. On the wall, there was information about Sambaekga's bossam and kalguksu — the signage explained that the restaurant uses 100% handmade fresh noodles for the kalguksu, house-made geotjeori (fresh cabbage kimchi), and pork raised on persimmons from Sangju.

Self-bar, side dishes and free rice refills

There was a self-bar set up on one side of the restaurant. You could help yourself to kimchi, young radish kimchi, and side dishes, and orange juice was also available. When eating bossam, kimchi and vegetables run out fast, so being able to refill easily was a nice touch.

There was also a sign noting that rice refills are free with kalguksu and bossam orders — worth knowing if you want to eat a hearty meal with rice.

First, the kimchi, chive salad, vegetables, and sauces to go with the bossam were set out. Lettuce and napa cabbage were both provided, so we could make wraps in different styles depending on preference.

Three sauces for the bossam — garlic sauce is the winner

Three types of sauce come with the bossam. Each tasted different, so even the same bossam felt different depending on which sauce we paired it with. Among them, the sauce that looked like a garlic sauce really suited my taste. Its sweet, pungent flavor went really well with the savory bossam, and I kept reaching for it. Personally, it was the tastiest of the three sauces.

Sambaek Bossam: springy, tender pork with no gamey smell

The Sambaek Bossam finally arrived. The meat was piled generously on a large plate, and it looked filling just to see.

Bossam meat with a mix of lean cuts and fat

There was a good mix of cuts — from pieces with a balance of lean meat and fat, to leaner cuts you could enjoy more plainly.

The bossam wasn't dry at all — it was plump and tender. The meat alone was moist and clean-tasting, but topped with kimchi, the added spiciness suited it well too.

Bossam meat topped with kimchi

It was delicious wrapped in napa cabbage with meat, kimchi, and chive salad, and equally good piled generously with the garlic sauce I liked so much.

Bossam wrap topped with chive salad and radish kimchi

Especially with a thick piece of bossam topped with chive salad and radish kimchi, the crunchy texture made for a great combination. Overall, there was no gamey smell, and the meat was soft to chew — a bossam that anyone, young or old, could enjoy comfortably.

Handmade kalguksu with a clean, refreshing broth

While we were still working through the bossam, we tried the kalguksu too. It came in a large bowl, generously topped with noodles, seaweed flakes, cucumber, and egg garnish.

Lifting up the noodles, you could see the uneven thickness typical of handmade noodles.

The noodles were soft yet chewy, and blended well with the broth. The broth wasn't heavy or murky — it was clean and refreshing.

After eating some bossam, a spoonful of the broth cleansed the palate, so we ended up alternating between the two the whole meal. If you're searching for kalguksu restaurants in Sindorim, Sambaekga — where you can enjoy both bossam and handmade kalguksu at once — seems like a solid choice.

Final table setting with bossam and kalguksu together

Is the Sambaek Bossam + Kalguksu Set worth 42,000 won?

Sindorim Sambaekga has great accessibility being close to Sindorim Station, and using the underground parking in the same building gets you up to 2 hours of parking support, which was convenient. Above all, the bossam was plump and tender, and the garlic sauce stood out among the three sauces. The kalguksu also had good noodles and a refreshing broth that paired well with the bossam. It's a good Sindorim restaurant to visit when you want to eat both bossam and kalguksu, whether for a family meal or a work gathering :)
