Apgujeong Rodeo pork belly restaurant with evening lights: Chobeoljip
In short
Chobeoljip Apgujeong Rodeo Branch is a Korean BBQ pork restaurant a one-minute walk from Apgujeong Rodeo Station Exit 6 in Gangnam, Seoul, known for its open-air, Euljiro-style outdoor tables. Two servings of pre-seared pork belly (150g, 18,000 won each) and sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew, 12,000 won) were grilled on a cauldron-lid griddle with aged kimchi on the side. The meat cooks slowly, but once the evening lights come on the mood is hard to beat, making Chobeoljip a fine choice for pork belly in Apgujeong Rodeo on a clear night.

It was one of those days when the weather was so good I just wanted to grill pork belly outside. I happened to have plans near Apgujeong Rodeo, so I stopped by Chobeoljip Apgujeong Rodeo Branch, a place where you can really feel that outdoor market-grilling vibe. These days are perfect for grilling meat outside in the cool breeze, and being able to enjoy this atmosphere right in the middle of Apro (Apgujeong Rodeo) won me over from the start.

Euljiro-style outdoor seating in the middle of Apgujeong Rodeo

The mood fits the cool autumn weather so well. Grilling meat on a cauldron-lid-style griddle, feeling that Euljiro nostalgia right in the middle of Apro — it's hip yet with just the right amount of old-school charm mixed in, and I really liked the atmosphere.

Side dishes and sundubu jjigae at Chobeoljip
The basic side dishes come out clean and well-suited to pairing with meat. The chunky aged kimchi is a particular highlight.

First, we ordered a sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew, ₩12,000) as a side.

Two servings of pre-seared pork belly (150g) with aged kimchi on the cauldron-lid griddle
We ordered two servings of pre-seared pork belly 150g (₩18,000 each).

It comes with bone, mushrooms, and peppers on the side.

Since the meat is already pre-seared once, you only need to grill it a bit more at the table to get it just right. They also give you a whole chunk of aged kimchi to grill along with the meat. Cooked golden-brown in the pork fat, the combination with the pork belly is just — need I say more.

The meat is grilled on a big cauldron-lid-style griddle, which really matches the atmosphere. That said, cooking on a cauldron lid does mean the meat cooks a bit slowly. If you're hungry, the wait might feel a little long, but once it's properly golden-brown, the taste is genuinely amazing. Especially with the aged kimchi grilled in the meat fat alongside it — even better.

My boyfriend and I sizzled away happily, each picking apart a bone.

What the outdoor tables look like once the evening lights come on
As evening fell, the lights came on and the atmosphere got even better. Grilling pork belly outdoors in the cool breeze — this is a taste you can only enjoy in autumn. With the added atmosphere, the pork belly felt even more delicious. Totally healing.

Is Chobeoljip Apgujeong Rodeo Branch worth a visit?
A Korean BBQ restaurant with Euljiro nostalgia right in the middle of Apgujeong Rodeo. There's real fun in grilling meat that's already pre-seared at the door, on a cauldron-lid griddle together with aged kimchi, and above all, the outdoor dining atmosphere was great. As evening comes, the lights turn on and a cool breeze blows in — the perfect mood for eating pork belly. A great spot to visit for good vibes and good meat on Apro, especially on a nice-weather day!
