We went out for lunch with the kids and they said they wanted tonkatsu AND udon haha. So we finally went to Myeonsikdang Pukyong National University Branch, a place I'd wanted to try for ages — famous as a ramen spot near Pukyong National University!
They do tonkatsu, udon, ramen, soba, and even pho all in one place, so I didn't have to agonize over what my two kids would eat lol. It's near Kyungsung University·Pukyong National University Station, right next to Mom's Touch, so it was really easy to find.

Inside the Daeyeon-dong restaurant: exterior and seating

You spot it right away coming out the side street from Pukyong National University haha. There's a single green plant by the door, a small nice touch.
Inside was bigger and cleaner than I expected. It's an open kitchen so you can watch them cook, and each table has a tablet ordering system, which the kids found fascinating and kept poking at.
What's on the Myeonsikdang menu?

The menu is genuinely huge — tonkotsu ramen, maze soba, kaze soba, chilled chicken soba, various tonkatsu, and rice bowls too. They mark spice levels on the menu, which is handy for anyone who can't handle spicy food.
The 2-person set comes with 2 mains, 2 sides, and an ade, perfect if you want to try a little of everything.
What we ordered for a family lunch

We ordered mozzarella cheese katsu, Sanuki fish cake udon, demi-glace pork loin katsu, and tonkotsu ramen with a mini spicy pork rice bowl.

First up, the Sanuki fish cake udon! The broth wasn't heavy, just clean and light, so the kids slurped it right up. My younger one practically inhaled the noodles... got so eager they started eating with their hands lol T.T

The tonkotsu ramen, true to being their signature dish, had a rich pork broth loaded with a soft-boiled egg and chashu pork. One bite and I got exactly why this place is known as the ramen spot near Pukyong National University.
We also ordered two kinds of tonkatsu — when we cut into the mozzarella cheese katsu, the cheese stretched out in long strings, and the kids loved it most of all.

The demi-glace pork loin katsu had a generous pool of demi-glace sauce on top, so it wasn't greasy and kept us reaching for more.

We also added a potato croquette on the side — crispy outside, moist inside, we finished every bite. And the owner threw in fried chicken as a service item! Crispy outside, juicy inside, the kids cleared the plate in no time haha.
How did the kids like the udon and katsu?

My older kid's eyes lit up at the cheese katsu. Once I showed her the cheese stretching, she kept asking me to take photos, saying it was so cool lol. My younger one is a total noodle lover, so they finished every strand of noodles haha.
Myeonsikdang prices: what lunch for four cost

Whether you're after the best tonkatsu near Kyungsung University or pho in Daeyeon-dong, this place covers it all. There's so much on the menu that next time I want to try the soba too!
From the ramen near Pukyong National University that everyone talks about to the tonkatsu, Myeonsikdang Pukyong National University Branch was an easy, comfortable lunch with the kids.
