The place was spacious, clean, and had a calm restaurant vibe — it looked great for visiting with a baby, and also good for family gatherings or work dinners!

This is the exterior of Cheongmigwan Sejong Naseong Main Branch, located in the Narijae Village Complex 5 commercial building. The whole facade is done in wood tones, so it looked upscale, and the signboard had a nice feel to it too.

Parking at Cheongmigwan: the building's underground lot

I was able to use the building's underground parking. After parking downstairs, I took the building elevator up to the 1st floor! Since I was just there for takeout, I made it back within the free parking window.

What's on the menu at Cheongmigwan?

Menu board listing side dishes

Cheongmigwan Sejong Naseong Main Branch, a Sejong favorite, had a variety of menus combining jokbal and bossam (boiled pork wraps) as the main dishes. The main menu includes Cheongmi Front Jokbal, Chive Fire Jokbal, and Cheongmi Tofu-Kimchi Bossam, while the sides include Chamnamul Chive Pancake, Handmade Fruit Mak-guksu, and Flying Fish Roe Rice Ball. Since we wanted to try both the classic flavor and the fire jokbal, we ordered the Cheongmi Half-and-Half Jokbal (5.3).

Unboxing the Cheongmi Half-and-Half Jokbal takeout

Takeout contents including insulated bag and sauces

Inside the neatly packed black shopping bag were an insulated bag holding the main dish and neatly wrapped sauces. Everything was packed so cleanly that unboxing this jokbal takeout was genuinely satisfying — I kept marveling as I unwrapped it.

Basic side dishes including radish salad and pickled chili strips

Since it came in a cooler bag to keep some warmth in, I quickly removed the bag and unwrapped everything so I could eat it before it got cold! For basic side dishes, we got mu-saengchae (radish salad), pickled chili strips, chive salad, ssammu (thin pickled radish wraps), and wrap vegetables! When I opened the lid of the container holding the main dish, the plain jokbal gave off a scent of medicinal herbs, and the fire jokbal smelled of chives — so fragrant! 😆

Best side dish: the pickled chili strips

I mixed and matched with the side dishes again today! Every single one was delicious, but my top pick was the pickled chili strips! The savory depth of soy sauce paired perfectly with the jokbal, and the sharp, spicy kick of cheongyang chili completely cut through the richness that jokbal can sometimes have. Thanks to that, I could enjoy a clean, light taste all the way through the meal without it ever feeling greasy.

Is Cheongmigwan worth it? Final thoughts

Cheongmigwan Sejong Naseong Main Branch, a Naseong-dong, Sejong favorite, had a clean, spacious interior that allowed for a private meal, making it a great space for family gatherings and work dinners. The jokbal we tried at home was moist, tender, and light, with a nice chive aroma. The side dishes were varied enough that every last bite was still delicious without getting boring — I'm definitely planning to visit in person next time!!!
