Gangnam dessert café for lemon pound cake: Something About Coffee

After having samgyeopsal (Korean grilled pork belly) for dinner with Jae-eun at Doho, we came to Something About Coffee 🪴 to make room for dessert. This was my second visit, and I really liked it because the desserts are varied and delicious.

What are the interior and seating like at Something About Coffee?

The café is huge—big enough to span three floors. I visited at 7 p.m. on a Saturday, and there were more open seats than usual 🪑 It is normally almost full at lunchtime, so you have to claim a table as soon as you arrive.

The terrace seating is also spacious and nicely set up, but there were so many guests that I could not photograph it properly, haha. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, so it would be nice for a solo café visit, and I think you would feel at ease with friends, a partner, or anyone else. I recommend it for a first date, too!

Pineapple cake coconut cookie / lemon Earl Grey cookie / chestnut pumpkin ppasseu financier / red bean butter / plain scone. Since I visited in the evening, quite a few dessert slots were empty. Still, I think this was a good selection ^.^

The stars of the show came out almost as soon as we ordered ⚡️ This was our second café of the day, but desserts are exciting no matter when—or how often—you eat them.

Green tangerine ade ₩7,500 — mine I cannot even drink decaf after 5 p.m. 💧 So I ordered a lively sparkling ade instead 🫧 It was not overly sweet, making it easy to drink without feeling weighed down.

Lemon pound cake ₩6,800 There was just one slice of lemon pound cake left, and it ended up in our hands... With a thin slice of lemon and even herbs on top, it looked refreshing at a glance. The moist, dense pound cake was generously topped with sweet-tart lemon icing, and I loved its bright flavor 🍋

The soft cake and gently refreshing lemon flavor came together perfectly for dessert 🫰🏻 A dessert where the subtle tang of lemon and sweet cake work so well together.

Dense chocolate fudge cheesecake

Chocolate fudge cheesecake ₩9,800 A cake full of deep, dense flavor from rich chocolate 🍫 The combination of soft chocolate cheesecake and thick fudge chocolate, plus a crisp cookie crust, made the texture great too 🍪 Slightly bitter cocoa powder and sweet chocolate come together, and the more you eat, the more that rich chocolate flavor fills your mouth.

It was finished with plenty of chocolate cookies and chocolate on top, making it a complete cake with a sweet look just from seeing it. If you love chocolate, you cannot help but be satisfied with this rich chocolate dessert! Recommended if you are looking for a chewy chocolate cake 👍🏻

It is located on Gangnam's café street, so it is easy to get to, and the interior is very spacious for a comfortable visit. On top of that, the dessert selection is enormous, so anyone serious about dessert is bound to love this café! This return visit was satisfying once again 👏🏻👏🏻
