It really lives up to its name as a healing café, where you can soak your feet in warm water while getting a shoulder massage.

If you come in when your feet hurt and you are exhausted after touring the hanok village, it must feel like heaven.

We came into Manjok just as we were getting worn out from the heat after wandering around the hanok village for a while. Sipping a glass of iced tea and soaking our feet in the cool indoor space made me think, ah, this is what healing feels like.

Foot bath enjoyed with iced tea

It was not just any foot bath—you can choose an aroma too. I chose rose, which helps relieve stress, while my son chose lavender, which helps with insomnia.

As I drank sweet, tangy iced tea and soaked my feet in warm water, my heat-weary body felt recharged! Sightsee enthusiastically around the hanok village → have a foot bath at Manjok → rest with a cool drink. This combination was even better than I expected.

A healing stop in the middle of your trip

At Anma Jogyok Cafe Manjok, you can enjoy a foot bath and shoulder massage while having a drink at a café, making it a place for a proper break in the middle of a trip. It is nice simply to sit down after walking around for ages, but soaking my feet in warm water made the tension throughout my body slowly melt away.

Above all, it uses foot bath machines and massage chairs, so I went in without huge expectations—but I was surprised by how soothing it was. Keeping my feet, stiff from all that walking, in warm water really gave me the feeling that my fatigue was easing.

A shoulder massage while you soak your feet

What I especially loved at Manjok was the shoulder massage. It was not just a foot bath; using the massage chair loosened up my shoulders too, so I could sit back and rest comfortably. Of course, it is not a hands-on massage from a person like at a professional massage shop, but I did not expect much from a chair and it was genuinely refreshing when I tried it. After walking for a long time while traveling, it is not only your legs—your shoulders and neck get surprisingly stiff too. Getting a shoulder massage while soaking my feet made it feel as though all that tiredness disappeared at once.

Seats for a foot bath and shoulder massage together

If two people visit together, it is lovely to sit facing each other, chat, and enjoy foot baths and shoulder massages. It is also a great space to visit alone, close your eyes quietly, and take a break.

A relaxing atmosphere with a view of the hanok village

The overall atmosphere inside is cozy and relaxing too. Best of all, the full-height windows let you rest while looking out over Jeonju Hanok Village, which I really loved. After diligently walking through the village, it is time to sit down, look at the hanok village scenery, and enjoy a little breathing room. It felt different from seeing the village outside. As I had a warm foot bath and looked at the village through the window, it felt as if time had briefly stopped in the middle of a busy trip. The gentle music completed an atmosphere that was perfect for a comfortable rest.

A rest stop for a walking-heavy hanok village trip

Café rest stop in Jeonju Hanok Village

Jeonju Hanok Village has so much to see and so many good places to eat that you end up walking all day. That is why I think you really should add at least one rest stop like this.

Foot bath space for resting after lots of walking

Especially on a day when you have walked a lot and your feet hurt, resting with a foot bath feels much more special and satisfying than simply sitting in a regular café. After seeing the hanok village under the blazing sun, coming into a cool space for an iced tea, soaking your feet in warm water, and even getting a shoulder massage—what a proper energy boost!

Travel rest stop with iced tea and a foot bath

If you are looking for somewhere to take a quick break during a Jeonju Hanok Village trip, I would like to recommend Anma Jogyok Cafe Manjok. It was extra special as a healing café where you can enjoy more than a drink in a pretty café: foot baths, shoulder massages, tea, music, and hanok village scenery all together. If you are tired from walking so much around Jeonju Hanok Village, take a little break. With a warm foot bath and a cool drink, I think you can forget your travel fatigue for a while and find the energy to explore the village again. When you visit Jeonju Hanok Village, add not only restaurants and cafés but also one “rest stop” to your itinerary. For me, Manjok was exactly that kind of place.
