Gangnam Chinese restaurant for solo shaomai and beef noodles

In short

Namsogwan U Yuk Dosakmyeon is a two-floor Chinese restaurant near Exit 11 of Gangnam Station in Seoul. Eating solo, the writer ordered shaomai made to order at the entrance (5pc, ₩9,000) and a hearty beef dosakmyeon with thick-cut meat (₩11,000), tasting just like the flavors remembered from Taiwan. Table-side ordering and card payment made it an easy, comfortable spot to eat alone.

Namsogwan U Yuk Dosakmyeon (남소관 우육도삭면) I went to Namsogwan U Yuk Dosakmyeon near Gangnam Station for some good dim sum and beef noodles 😋 They shape and steam the dim sum fresh the moment you order, and it was packed with juices — really delicious 🥺 Since it's spread across two floors, the seating is spacious and solo dining is totally fine, so you can eat great food in a comfortable atmosphere! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a Chinese restaurant near Gangnam Station 🙌🏻

At the entrance they were shaping dim sum right on the spot, and that whole tray sold out haha ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ They said it's the signature menu, and it really was popular 👍🏻 Since they make it fresh and steam it right away, it can't not be delicious 🥺

Both the 1st and 2nd floors were really spacious! What stood out especially was how many people were eating alone. It seems like a great place to come when you want to eat something delicious by yourself 👏🏻

You order through the table order system and pay right there by card, which was convenient 👏🏻 Sadly they didn't have beer though, sob.

Menu

Menu focused on dosakmyeon and dim sum
Menu

The menu is centered on dosakmyeon (hand-shaved noodles) and dim sum, and most people seemed to order the beef noodles, eggplant fritters, and shaomai! 😋

After ordering, they bring out peanuts, seasoned cabbage, and ginger soy sauce. Even eating solo, they gave a generous amount, which I liked 🙌🏻 It wasn't too salty and was tasty on its own.

Here comes a hefty bowl of u yuk dosakmyeon! ✨ The meat was thick and the broth was rich. The noodles were also cooked perfectly springy!

The flavor really nailed what I remembered from eating this in Taiwan — satisfying every single bite! The meat was so thick I got completely full ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ The price is nice too, so I think I'll come back for more.

Shaomai, 5pc, ₩9,000

A tray of steaming shaomai, 5 pieces

Here comes shaomai with steam still rising ✨ Doesn't it look super moist, packed with juices?!

It was springy but still had good texture, and it was really delicious. Since they make it fresh to order, it tastes even better — definitely recommend ordering this too 👍🏻

It's a satisfying spot that keeps the authentic flavor, and it already has plenty of customers, but I'm introducing it anyway hoping it does even better 👏🏻 If you're looking for a good Chinese restaurant near Gangnam Station, I recommend it!😋
