Ilsanji, Ulsan Chinese restaurant: late-night 2-person jjamppong set
In short
Ulsan Daewangam Dol Jjamppong is a stone-plate jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and jjajangmyeon restaurant in an alley in the heart of Ilsanji, Dong-gu, Ulsan. Arriving late in the evening, the writer ordered the stone jjajang and stone jjamppong two-person set, added squid for 5,000 won and asked for the jjamppong at Shin Ramyun spiciness, and the scorched rice crisping on the hot stone plate turned out to be the real highlight. Because the set also comes with chicken and pork cutlet, Ulsan Daewangam Dol Jjamppong suits a group of four even better than a pair.

Today I'm introducing a spot in Ilsanji. I hadn't been in a while and it's changed so much — totally the hot place right now! Since I was in Ilsanji anyway, I'm recommending the stone jjamppong and jjajang here haha. Let me introduce the restaurant I visited!
But my honest impression, completely honest: verdict is this is a certified Dong-gu, Ulsan restaurant? Stick with me to the end haha
Where is Ulsan Daewangam Dol Jjamppong, and is there parking?
Ulsan Daewangam Dol Jjamppong is at 1F, 6 Ilsanjin 5-gil, Dong-gu, Ulsan, in the main alley of Ilsanji. There's a restaurant parking lot with room for about 10 cars! The lot is roomy so parking is easy. No parking on the street in front of the store though.

The restaurant is pretty big and spacious so it's impossible to miss! Being in the main alley of Ilsanji makes it even easier to find!

Inside Ulsan Daewangam Dol Jjamppong late in the evening
The inside of Ulsan Daewangam Dol Jjamppong is spacious and clean. Most tables seat 4, so groups would need to split up across tables. I went during the late evening and there were only a few other tables, so it was nice and quiet to eat haha.

Green onion kimchi self-serve bar and free yogurt dessert
There's a self-serve bar so you can refill any side dish you run low on, unlimited ~ the green onion kimchi with stone jjajang was a fantastic combo, seriously ㅠㅠ I was going to refill it one more time~

A restaurant that even takes care of dessert... so touching. Grab a yogurt on your way out haha, kids are going to love this part ~ having a snack too for dessert would be a nice happy ending ~~ just don't get too greedy~

Menu and kiosk ordering at Ulsan Daewangam Dol Jjamppong
Honestly the photos looked so good I wanted to order everything haha. The day I got to try both jjamppong and jjajang! I was full of anticipation for how good it would be ~

I liked that the menu itself was pretty limited, but instead the sides were varied?! haha. The combo where you get to eat chicken and pork cutlet together was a fresh and nice touch! And of course, this restaurant also uses a kiosk hahaha, such a convenient world these days-
Stone jjajang two-person set: the scorched rice is the kick
Ta-da~ the stone jjajang was served first and the moment I saw it, wow. The portion was huge, and there was already plenty of seafood and squid inside without even adding extra!

Wait, this is a 2-person set — I was surprised by the portion, then surprised again by the taste. Honestly it was delicious.. the noodles were nice and chewy. There's scorched rice, and that's the real highlight. Rice is provided separately self-serve, but I liked eating the noodles then the scorched rice right after. Make sure to scrape up every bit of the scorched rice ㅠㅠ

The set that also brings chicken and pork cutlet
If just noodles feel like not quite enough, order the set haha. You get chicken, you get pork cutlet, just a whole variety, and I was 100000% satisfied💛💛 Getting that sweet-and-sour taste and the fried chicken taste both — two birds one stone. Neither one has an overly thick batter, it's the thick meat itself that wins you over…
Stone jjamppong at Shin Ramyun spiciness with 5,000-won squid
I had the jjamppong set to Shin Ramyun spiciness. It was moderately spicy, so eating jjajang then jjamppong felt just right. This place feels like it would be even better with 4 people instead of 2 haha, since you get to eat such a variety~~ The squid 🦑 was also very soft and tender so it'd be easy for kids to eat too (I personally don't like chewy stuff). I had squid added! 5.0 add-on.

The set composition was so good, I got to eat really generously and it was totally great👍 Certified Dong-gu, Ulsan restaurant in Ilsanji ~ Not because this is an ad, but I think I'll go back again. There was a lot of seafood inside and getting to eat such variety made the memory even better.

Feels like these days you can't go anywhere without a review event. I like places with that kind of sense for their customers (though the lazy ones who don't do it,,)

I think it'd be even better to read through the tips on how to enjoy it before eating😉 This felt like a place families, friends, and couples could all enjoy without any pressure! Also a good spot to visit along with sightseeing at Daewangam and Ilsanji
