Icheon beef restaurant with a five-cut special platter: Jowatso

I was in Icheon and craving really good beef, so I went looking for a beef restaurant in Janghowon — that's how I found Jowatso! I came across it while searching for beef spots around Icheon's Janghowon area, and since the portions looked generous and the prices weren't scary, I decided to check it out.

Where is Jowatso in Janghowon-eup, Icheon, and is there parking?

Jowatso Janghowon Gamgok Main Branch is located at 25 Seodongdae-ro 8809beon-gil, Janghowon-eup, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open Mon–Sun 11:00–22:00, with last order at 21:20, and there's an outdoor parking lot right in front of the building.

Jowatso's menu: which beef platters can you order?

Jowatso's menu! Signature special-cuts platter, marinated platter, beef rib platter — you can get a whole platter of beef at a pretty reasonable price! Beyond the platters, there's also a wide range of individual cuts you can pick and choose from 👀 We wanted a good value beef platter, so we ordered the signature special-cuts platter (850g)!

There's also a daily limited-edition menu made entirely of special cuts, so if you only want special cuts, that limited menu might be worth considering too!

Aside from beef, there was also a good variety of items to finish the meal — cold noodles, garak udon, stew, sushi, and more.

And drinks and alcohol were about like this~~

On the staff-call screen, you could order everything from grill plate changes to takeaway packing through the kiosk, so we didn't even need to call a staff member haha.

Jowatso's basic side dishes. The basic sides included pickled perilla leaves, pickled radish, lettuce and chive salad, and lettuce wraps. And sushi came as part of the basic sides too!! Usually you'd have to order that extra, so having it included was so nice haha.

If the sides run low, there's a self-bar so you can help yourself to more~~

Jowatso is a charcoal-grill place~~ they heat up the grill plate with charcoal for you.

What comes on the 850g signature special-cuts platter for 89,000 won?

What we ordered: Jowatso's signature special-cuts platter (850g) for ₩89,000. Jowatso's own signature special cuts! The moment it arrived, the freshness was the first thing that caught my eye 😊

The special cuts consisted of five types in total: udaegalbi, bonkkotsal, sogalbisal, bucheotsal, and honey-marinated grill! The meat came piled generously on one platter, so it was satisfying just to look at.

Every single piece looked so fresh~~ 800-some grams of beef for around ₩80,000-something — such good value for the price!!

Grilling all five beef cuts, with free beef hangover soup in between

Time to start grilling for real~~ since it's beef, it cooked quickly, which was great.

Eating it with the lettuce and chive salad that came as a basic side~! Jowatso's meat was soft and savory haha.

Just as the meat started feeling a little rich, the beef hangover soup came in to clean the palate right down!! One of the great things about Jowatso is that you get a spicy beef hangover soup for free~!

After the soup reset our palates, the meat party started back up haha. Each beef cut had slightly different texture and flavor, so it was fun comparing them one by one haha. Even with the differences, every single cut was soft and delicious~~

Cold noodles (mul-naengmyeon), ₩6,000. You can't have beef without cold noodles! The price was reasonable and the portion was just right to pair with the meat.

Is Jowatso worth it for beef in Janghowon, Icheon?

Overall, a satisfying meal considering the portion and price! It seems like a good option especially for anyone who wants to try several cuts at once, or eat a generous beef meal with family!
