11-piece omakase sushi takeout for grandma's house: Minyeong Hwareo

I found a really delicious sushi spot in Moraenae Market, one of the bigger markets in Incheon. Fresh yet affordable, friendly, and varied enough for anyone to enjoy — so I'm writing this review.

It's a takeout-only shop with salmon, raw shrimp, eel, tuna and more all packed into an omakase sushi set — here's my tasting review!

Thanks to a system where live fish arriving daily from Yeonan Pier is sliced and packed on the spot, you get thick, generously cut premium sushi at a dramatically lower price than a regular sushi restaurant.

With flatfish, salmon, sea urchin roe (uni), otoro and more packed in with excellent freshness, it's perfect for a home party or an outing! If you want sushi where you can actually fill up on real sashimi during these high-price times, this takeout spot is a must-visit!

Sweet shrimp sushi, raw shrimp sushi, mulhoe (cold raw fish soup). Yukhoe (beef tartare) sushi, raw salmon sushi, and more.

A single type of sushi (flatfish/salmon) started at ₩9,000–10,000, the Moraenae sushi set was ₩13,000, and special/mixed/omakase sushi ranged ₩15,000–18,000. There was also a solo sashimi plate, mulhoe, futomaki (thick sushi roll), and more.

I bought the 11-piece omakase sushi for ₩18,000, 10-piece raw shrimp sushi for ₩10,000, and salmon platter for ₩15,000 — ₩43,000 total!

Straight from the cold bag to grandma's house

I received the pretty packaging and headed to grandma's house. The upscale packaging in the signature orange cold bag was satisfying, and so was the fact that they included an ice pack, soy sauce, pickled ginger, and miso soup as standard to keep everything fresh.

The taste split between lunch and dinner

Such pretty-looking sushi. I had one portion for lunch and one for dinner — the shrimp was chewy and the salmon sashimi was thick and fresh. Being live-fish based, the sashimi overall was thick, chewy, and fresh throughout...

Compared to eating at a restaurant, the portion and quality were great, and the price felt easy on the wallet.

What kind of gathering to bring this to

This goes well beyond just a packed meal — perfect on taste, price, quality, and friendliness, it's a place you can confidently bring to any gathering.

It'd be great for watching a baseball game live, a bridal shower, plating at a party room, or a friend's housewarming and home party. It's fresher and more generous than ordering delivery from a restaurant. I'd recommend it as a gift when visiting grandma's house or your parents, too, since the thick, chewy, premium live-fish sashimi suits older palates well.
