Extra Mile is a Western-style restaurant on the first floor of an alley off Suyeongro554beon-gagil in Gwangalli. We came here as a second stop that day and split a peanut butter pasta and a salad.

The weather got so much cooler and it felt amazing haha. As soon as September hit, the temperature dropped hard. Seasons really can't hide, can they. There's apparently a typhoon somewhere far off Jeju, so the wind is blowing hard and the temperature is basically walkable now.

Now I can really get out and about properly. Up until last week it felt like going outside was risking my life, but now I'm going to start posting and being active for real. Today the sun was blazing but it rained for a bit too. No warning at all, so I just walked around in the rain. Seriously, the weather forecast never gets anything right — rain or temperature, none of it. Last week the news said it'd stay hot through late September into early October, then suddenly they're announcing early autumn.

Anyway, the walk to the restaurant was genuinely fun. Making our way to this slightly out-of-the-way corner, with the weather and sunlight both perfect, it felt like an autumn picnic and we arrived in a great mood. Turns out plenty of other people know about this hidden gem too.

The location itself is a bit tricky to reach without a car, but the place was still packed. Since it was so busy, I ended up just capturing bits and pieces in photos.

Coloring paper at the table while you wait

At Extra Mile, coloring paper is set out on the table while you wait for your food. We ended up waiting a fair while, but it was fun. We dutifully filled in every blank space while we waited.

What is the atmosphere like inside Extra Mile?

Extra Mile, this pasta restaurant in Gwangalli, has a cozy atmosphere, comfortable seating, and it's pleasant — not hot or humid — so it's a great place to linger. A good space makes the food taste even better and turns it into a nicer memory!! While we waited for the food, the temperature, humidity, chairs, and table height were all perfect!!

Sitting at the bar table, we happily colored away. It's a fun way to pass the time while the food is being made. But it looked like no other table was taking coloring as seriously as we were haha. We filled it in hard, just the two of us! Thanks to that, the wait didn't feel boring at all — it was actually fun.

Peanut butter pasta: what does the mala peanut sauce taste like?

Sharing the salad and pasta as a second stop

Since Extra Mile was our second stop, we split a salad and the pasta. The salad was fresh and the dressing was exactly that MZ-generation flavor haha.

Extra Mile looks great, but it tastes great too — the mala peanut sauce with cilantro makes it a hit for anyone who likes mala flavor, and it also works well as a drinking snack.
