I visited Extra Mile in Gwangalli, a spot known for unique pizza and pasta. I figured it'd be crowded since it was the weekend, but I still walked in without a CatchTable reservation, and ended up waiting about 30 minutes haha;; If you don't want to wait on-site like we did, I'd recommend putting your name down on CatchTable before you head over!

How long is the weekend lunch wait at Extra Mile?

There were two of us, and we waited about 30 minutes to get seated. It's a popular spot in Gwangalli, so guests kept streaming in during the weekend lunch rush. You can still get a table if you just show up, but if you want to cut down the wait, using CatchTable beforehand seems like the way to go.

If you're on a date in Gwangalli, you could wander around the area while you wait, but I think booking ahead is still the more relaxed option. We spent our time looking at the fig tree in front of the restaurant haha.

Inside Extra Mile: a warm, relaxed dining room

Extra Mile looked clean from the outside, a white building paired with wood-toned window frames. Inside, wood-tone furniture and plants gave the whole place a warm, comfortable feel.

It's an open kitchen, so you can catch glimpses of the cooking, and even though it's a well-known pizza spot in Gwangalli, it doesn't feel overly casual — it seemed like a good place for a date or a family meal out.

One nice touch: while waiting for our order, crayons and paper were set out on the table for coloring. It was a drawing of pizza toppings you could color in, and I found myself weirdly focused on it. Coloring again after so long made me feel like a kid again haha. Maybe because of little touches like this, I saw a lot of tables with babies in tow. It seemed like a good Gwangalli spot for families with kids, since it keeps them from getting bored before the food arrives.

Ordering the 42,000 won Classic Combo Set for 2

Since there were two of us, we ordered the Classic Combo Set for 2 at ₩42,000. The set comes with one pizza and one pasta, and the pizza could be ordered half-and-half.

Of the two pizzas, the taco pizza was by far the tastiest. Topped with meat, vegetables, sauce, and crunchy nacho chips, it looked unique from the first glance. Unlike a typical pizza, it felt like eating a taco and a pizza at once.

The savory, rich meat flavor blended with fresh vegetables and a soft sauce, and the nacho chips scattered throughout added a nice crunch. Despite so many toppings, nothing felt like it was working against the rest — the combination came together really well.

If you're looking for a different kind of pizza in Gwangalli, I'd definitely recommend trying the taco pizza. I'd order it again without hesitation next time.

Potato pizza at Extra Mile: chewy and satisfying

On the other side was the potato pizza, topped with thinly shredded potato and small potato fries. Being able to taste both soft-cooked potato and crispy fries in a single bite made this one genuinely fun to chew through.

A pizza topped with just potato could easily feel plain, but the variety of potato shapes and textures kept it interesting. Where the taco pizza stood out for its sauce and topping combination, the potato pizza's charm was in its generous potato toppings and texture. Since the two had such different personalities, I'm glad we went with half-and-half.

White ragu pasta with curly noodles at Extra Mile

For the pasta, we chose the white ragu pasta. The first thing I noticed when it arrived was the noodle shape — I'd never seen anything like it. It was a wide, ribbon-like noodle with edges that curled in a wavy pattern, completely different from a regular spaghetti strand.

Because the noodle is wide and curved, the white ragu sauce and ground meat clung well to it, and the texture was fun to chew through as well. The soft, savory sauce combined with the meat's richness made it a great pasta to eat alongside pizza.
