Four friends and I went to Pujim Gopchang Magoknaru Branch (푸짐곱창 마곡나루점) in Magoknaru for beef gopchang (grilled beef small intestine). We ordered the Pujim Platter so we could try several cuts at once, and the beef gopchang, full of filling, was the most memorable.

What were the atmosphere and outdoor seats like?

The high ceiling made the indoor space feel open. We took an outdoor table after sunset, when the weather had cooled down. Since gopchang fat can splatter, we also picked up the disposable aprons provided.

What came with the Pujim Platter, and what did four people spend?

The restaurant introduced itself as using same-day slaughtered and same-day prepared meat. We chose the Pujim Platter, which let us try gopchang, teukyang (beef honeycomb tripe), makchang (beef fourth stomach), daechang (beef large intestine), and beef heart together. It was ₩79,000 for 1kg and included a mini gopchang hot pot.

There was also a Pujim Half Platter, 600g for ₩59,000. We added meal dishes and drinks to the full platter, and I was satisfied with the price for four people eating beef gopchang.

How were the side dishes and included hot pot?

The side dishes arrived quickly, and each person received three sauces. There were pickled perilla leaves and green onion kimchi; I especially liked the pickled perilla leaves.

Raw liver and cheonyeop (beef omasum) also came out. I do not usually eat either, so the married couple we were with ate them, and they seemed to enjoy them.

The mini gopchang hot pot included with the Pujim Platter was just right when I wanted a spicy, warming broth. It had a good amount of gopchang in it, along with dangmyeon (glass noodles), which I like.

Which cut on the platter tasted best?

The grill was filled with gopchang, makchang, daechang, teukyang, and beef heart. King oyster mushrooms, onion, cheese rice cakes, potatoes, and shishito peppers came alongside. The owner cut everything into easy-to-eat pieces and added chive kimchi and green onion kimchi, so it was easy to eat.

We started with the beef heart. I liked its chewy texture most with Cheongyang chili soy sauce. The teukyang was especially chewy among the cuts, and I ate it with green onion kimchi and chive kimchi.

The cut I enjoyed most was the beef gopchang. It was full of filling, and I did not notice any unpleasant odor when I ate it.

The makchang was also chewy and savory. Eating the different cuts in turn made the differences in texture clear.

After gopchang, I liked the daechang best. I like its characteristically rich, fatty flavor, so I enjoyed it.

We chose Zero Cola instead of alcohol.

We divided the potatoes into four pieces. The king oyster mushrooms were tasty too, and the cheese rice cakes were decent.

The cheese rice cakes were quietly quite good too.

How filling is it with bibim guksu and fried rice?

The kimchi on top of the bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles) brought the flavors together. We ordered two bowls and ate them with the gopchang.

We finished with two servings of fried rice. We were already very full before it arrived, so I felt the Pujim Platter was generously portioned. I was full, but finishing with rice made the meal feel complete.
