I had the Kkeutjip C Course (₩23,000 per person) at Gaya Kkeutjip in Samgye-dong, Gimhae. I was visiting a friend's place in Gimhae when I heard there was a great restaurant nearby, so we stopped by this local favorite together.

Since it was my first visit, I wasn't sure what to order, so I went with the Kkeutjip C Course, which lets you try several dishes at once. It was already past the peak lunch hour and a few menu items had already sold out. If you're looking for a family meal or gathering spot in Samgye-dong, Gimhae, here's a quick rundown.
What is the exterior and parking like at Gaya Kkeutjip?
Gaya Kkeutjip is a fairly large restaurant to begin with. There's a wide parking area right in front of the building, making it convenient if you're driving. No matter how good the food is, tricky parking can make you hesitate to visit — so I liked that parking wasn't a worry here. The exterior overall is clean and spacious, giving a relaxed first impression.

How comfortable is the dining room at Gaya Kkeutjip?
Inside, the tables at Gaya Kkeutjip are spaced generously, so it never felt cramped. The whole space feels open, and with several air conditioners running, the interior stayed comfortable even in hot weather.
Notably, I barely noticed the food smells or smoke that usually linger in restaurants — the air felt clean throughout the meal. There were also handy spots near the tables stocked with dishes and plates you could grab as needed.
We visited just after 1 PM that day, and there were still quite a few customers. It seemed like the kind of place that could have a wait during weekend peak hours.

Gaya Kkeutjip menu and Kkeutjip C Course price
Gaya Kkeutjip offers everything from basic à la carte dishes to full set menus where you can enjoy several dishes together. The set menus in particular stand out for letting you taste multiple dishes in one spread.
What we ordered that day was the Kkeutjip C Course at ₩23,000 per person.

It's a spread that comes with braised skate, clay-oven grilled fish, house-made tofu, seasoned crab, and various homemade side dishes. I felt it suited people who'd rather sample a bit of many dishes than commit to just one.
The Kkeutjip C Course table spread: braised skate was the standout
Once the food was laid out, the table was filled with neatly arranged dishes. Overall it leaned toward clean, mild Korean home-style cooking rather than anything heavy or spicy, which I personally liked.
What stuck with me most was the braised skate. I hadn't eaten much skate before, so I didn't expect much, but the flesh turned out to be genuinely tender. It had that distinctive skate texture, yet braising it seemed to make it go down smoothly. I'd never had skate with this kind of texture before, and it ended up being the standout dish of the meal.

How the clay-oven grilled mackerel tasted
The clay-oven grilled fish at Gaya Kkeutjip was also delicious. Grilled over the clay oven, the mackerel came out lean and dry on the outside while the flesh stayed moist inside.
It had a nice savory flavor, and best of all, it wasn't too salty, so it was easy to eat without feeling overwhelmed. Grilled fish can sometimes disappoint with a fishy edge, but this mackerel barely had any of that. Eating the braised skate and grilled mackerel together was fun too, comparing the different textures and flavors side by side.
