I wanted to introduce Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong Station branch, a hanwoo (Korean beef) spot near Samseong Station! Two of us went, and before I knew it we'd racked up ₩190,000...! This is a spot near Daechi-dong, and here's my honest review.

Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong Station: hours and parking
⏰️ Hours: 11:00 AM–10:00 PM (closed Saturdays and Sundays)
🚻 Restroom: separate for men and women inside the restaurant
🅿️ Parking: ₩2,400 per 30 minutes, ₩1,500 per additional 15 minutes

Gungmin Hanwoo House sits down an alley just off the main road at Samseong Station. The sign is easy to spot, so you shouldn't have trouble finding it!!!

It's a certified hanwoo (Korean beef) retailer that's won a Presidential Award, so I walked in with high expectations!!

The entrance is covered in photos of celebrities who've visited!!

While waiting to be seated, I spotted a familiar name!! Le Sserafim's Minami had been here! Guess Wonyoung hasn't made it yet 🥺
1. Atmosphere: built for Samseong Station work dinners

It's a dining-hall-only layout, with tables pushed together seating up to 12 in a row! There's a reason I'd recommend Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong branch as a top spot for office dinners. The food is obviously delicious, but the place is also spotlessly clean, and the floor staff move incredibly fast. Great for eating quickly and heading out haha. While I was there, a group having a work dinner finished up and left within an hour...!

The restroom is also separate for men and women, and clean.
2. The menu: grilled sets are the best value, à la carte has a minimum order

The grilled sets at Gungmin Hanwoo House are great value!! Note that à la carte items have a minimum order for your first order. The sirloin-kkakdugi (radish kimchi) fried rice side is free if you book via Naver Map and bring the coupon — don't forget to grab it!

There's a wide range of meal options too. When I visited, the table next to me was having beef bulgogi hot pot, and the smell was absolutely incredible...💦 The drink menu ranges from basic somaek (soju-beer mix) to bokbunja (Korean black raspberry) wine.
Water glasses and beer/soju glasses are kept chilled in a fridge haha.
3. Side dishes and the 400g premium mixed platter

The basic side dishes here are top-tier among all the grill restaurants I've eaten at this year! One of them is white wood ear mushroom, and it's genuinely delicious with that crunchy texture. It has a different charm than eating it in mala tang (spicy numbing soup).

The yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) with minari (water celery) was so tender and delicious!! I refilled it once as the host ㅠㅠ

They also give you a huge pile of pickled onions!! Pickled onion cutting through the richness of the meat is the best combo~

If the charcoal heat weakens, just ask staff to add more charcoal!!

📍Premium mixed platter 400g — ₩95,000
From bottom to top: galbisal (rib finger), teuk-deungsim (premium sirloin), seolhwa deungsim, and tenderloin. Let me describe each one below!!

Tenderloin
I started with the thickest cut, the tenderloin! Grilled over high charcoal heat to sear the outside like a coating, it felt packed with juice on the inside!! I genuinely thought — this place is the best... It would've been amazing with wasabi on top ㅜㅜ (owner, if you're reading this, please add wasabi as an option)

The second tenderloin piece also disappeared instantly. You can see the moistness even in the photo. I especially loved the deep beefy flavor. It was such a shame watching the tenderloin vanish...

Seolhwa deungsim (marbled sirloin)
Seolhwa deungsim looked unusual and unfamiliar at first, so I didn't know what to expect. But the moment I took a bite, I tasted the savory richness of the fat! I'd love to have it again if I get the chance.

Teuk-deungsim (prime sirloin)
Teuk-deungsim is selected from the prized, shrimp-meat-like parts of the sirloin, balancing lean meat and fat perfectly. Of the four cuts, it definitely had the most satisfying chew! I loved catching that beefy aroma with every bite!

Extra order: salchisal and anchangsal
📍Salchisal (sirloin cap) ₩32,000, anchangsal (skirt steak) ₩42,000
After clearing one full platter, my boyfriend and I decided this was the place and ordered more haha. The portions are definitely not small. But it was so delicious we couldn't stop!!!

The salchisal was rich and savory — so delicious. I'd recommend ordering the bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) to eat alongside it! The tangy sauce cuts right through the richness of the salchisal, and they pair really well together!

The anchangsal had the best chewy texture!! It also had a deep beefy aroma that I loved.

Hamhung-style yukhoe bibim naengmyeon, 11,000 won
After having yukhoe as a side dish, I ordered the yukhoe bibim naengmyeon too. It was spicy and tangy, perfect for a clean finish! The noodles were cooked just right, and there were plenty of vegetables!
Which hanwoo cut tasted best? The ranking before you order à la carte
Let me rank all the cuts we tried at Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong branch!! Keep in mind our couple's taste leans toward meat-lovers who prefer deep beefy flavor and tenderness!
- 1️⃣ Tenderloin
- 2️⃣ Anchangsal (skirt steak), teuk-deungsim (premium sirloin)
- 3️⃣ Salchisal (sirloin cap)
- 4️⃣ Galbisal (rib finger)
- 5️⃣ Seolhwa deungsim
This should be helpful if you're ordering à la carte.

Korean beef you can trust!!
4. Final verdict on Gungmin Hanwoo House
The marbling, juiciness, and texture were all perfect, and the service and side dishes didn't miss a beat either — an extremely satisfying restaurant overall. If you're looking for a special gathering spot, I highly recommend Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong branch! And it's absolutely optimized for Samseong Station office dinners.
