Sinnonhyeon bakery for crème brûlée salt bread: Bakerist Brown
In short
Bakerist Brown is a large bakery café filling a whole building on Gangnam-daero 102-gil, near Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. After weighing the mentaiko salt bread against the crème brûlée salt bread, the writer picked the crème brûlée salt bread at 6,700 won and added a Gangnam Sand, a salted cream coffee at 7,800 won and an Americano at 6,500 won. Crisp with its sugar coating and moist inside, the crème brûlée salt bread was the highlight of the visit.

These days, when you go looking for good bread in Gangnam, there really are a lot of large bakery cafés. I was searching for a bakery near Sinnonhyeon Station and ended up at Bakerist Brown, a place that kept popping up on Instagram as a bakery hotspot. It looked big in photos, but in person it turned out to be an even bigger café that uses an entire building.
There were so many kinds of salt bread that I agonized for a while between the mentaiko (pollock roe) one and the cream brûlée one. I ended up picking one — and it turned out to be the most memorable menu item of the day.
Bakerist Brown location, hours and parking
Bakerist Brown is located at 21 Gangnam-daero 102-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and is open 11:00-22:30. There's no parking, so I'd recommend using the Yeoksam-dong public lot or just taking public transit!
A Sinnonhyeon bakery you notice from the outside

Because Bakerist Brown occupies the whole building, the scale felt pretty impressive right from the exterior. If you're looking for a Sinnonhyeon Station bakery where you can browse lots of different baked goods in one place, this kind of large bakery café is definitely convenient.
- A large café that uses the entire building
- A wide variety of bakery items
- A dedicated terrace space as well
The space felt even bigger in person than it looked on Instagram, so if it's your first visit, you'll probably feel like it's bigger than you expected!
Inside Bakerist Brown: more than just a pretty café
True to a large bakery café, the indoor seating was split across several different zones.

Honestly, I tend to find that at a lot of Instagram-aesthetic cafés, the chairs are uncomfortable even if the place looks pretty, making it hard to sit for long.

But at Bakerist Brown, the chairs were surprisingly comfortable — more than I expected.
- Relatively comfortable seating
- Spacious interior
- Terrace zone available

On a nice day, enjoying bread and coffee out on the terrace would be lovely. So this felt less like a Sinnonhyeon Station bakery where you just grab bread and go, and more like a Sinnonhyeon Station café worth lingering in. If you're the type who cares about being able to stay a while, not just the vibe, when hunting for a Gangnam Station café, this place should work well for you.
The menu: salt breads, pastries and Gangnam Sand

What caught my eye most at Bakerist Brown was, of course, the sheer variety of baked goods.
- Melon bread
- Mentaiko (pollock roe) salt bread
- Cream brûlée salt bread
- Wakppu salt bread
- Madeleines
- Pastries
- Mille-feuille
- Egg tarts
- Sliced bread
- Gangnam Sand
- Fig quinoa amann cake
There were especially many kinds of salt bread, so anyone looking for a Gangnam Station bakery would have plenty of options here too. After much deliberation, I ordered Gangnam Sand, cream brûlée salt bread, an Americano, and a salted cream latte.
Crème brûlée salt bread, 6,700 won: the best bite of the day

And the biggest surprise of the day, by far, was the cream brûlée salt bread! The outside is coated in sugar like an actual crème brûlée, so it's slightly hard and crackly, while the inside is moist and soft. There's also a whipped-cream-like filling inside, so you get sweetness and saltiness together.
I agonized right up to the end between this and the mentaiko salt bread, and I'm glad I chose the cream brûlée one. Personally, if you're looking for the best salt bread near Gangnam Station, this is the one I'd tell you to try first.
Gangnam Sand, 8 kinds at 2,400 won each

Gangnam Sand came in a range of flavors like matcha, yellow cheese, and chocolate — the cookie had a soft bite and the cream filling inside was generous. It felt a bit more like a premium dessert than your average sandwich cookie.
Salted cream coffee 7,800 won and Americano 6,500 won

The salted cream latte also had incredibly soft cream, with the foam packed all the way through. The coffee itself was on the strong side, which paired well with the sweet salt bread, and the Americano was nutty and worked nicely alongside the bakery items.
Is Bakerist Brown worth a visit? Final verdict

Bakerist Brown is a large-scale bakery café with a huge variety of bread, so there was real fun in picking through everything from salt bread to desserts.
- Wide variety of baked goods
- Especially many kinds of salt bread
- Relatively comfortable seating
- A terrace space available
- Good for enjoying coffee and dessert together
Perfect for anyone near Sinnonhyeon or Gangnam Station looking for a place with lots of bakery choices!!! If you're after a large café near Sinnonhyeon or Gangnam Station where you can also get good bread, this place handles both in one stop.
Above all, the cream brûlée salt bread was what stuck with me most.!! You really, seriously need to try it! Next time I want to try the mentaiko salt bread I was torn on this time. If you were choosing between mentaiko salt bread and cream brûlée salt bread, which would you pick first?
