When those cool, breezy autumn days roll around, doesn't Daehangno's street just pop into your head? 🍁 I skipped the weekend crowds and finally enjoyed a leisurely weekday theater date.

The menu alone is over-the-top cute — I went to Omil Hyehwa Daehangno, known as one of the best pasta spots in Hyehwa!! Cool breeze, relaxed vibe, and delicious food on top of it all made for a perfect day. If you're looking for a can't-fail Daehangno restaurant for a Hyehwa date, save this review!
Where is Omil Hyehwa Daehangno, and how long is the weekday wait?

Omil Hyehwa Daehangno is a 5-minute walk from Hyehwa Station Exit 4! From the entrance alone, I loved the cute character branding and the butter-toned interior! Arriving around 11:30 on a weekday there was no wait, but a small line started forming after noon!! There's no dedicated parking lot, so I'd recommend public transit or walking.

Walk in and you're greeted by a warm wood-toned interior that instantly puts you at ease, and since they have kids' chairs, it seemed like a great spot for a couple's date as well as a family visit with children! Plenty of two-person tables make it good for solo dining too, and groups of four or more are fine as well!!
How to order at Omil, and the self-service bar with homemade pickles

At Omil Hyehwa Daehangno you just sit at your table and order comfortably!! They give you one free ade if you write a Naver receipt review or a Google Maps review, so make sure to take part and enjoy a tasty drink haha.

At the self-service bar you help yourself to as much homemade pickle as you want, and wet wipes, tissues, and paper cups are all free to use, which was really convenient!

The cabbage cucumber pickles in particular were homemade with a clean flavor, and they cut through richness so well that I ended up eating two whole bowls haha.
What comes in the Omil two-person set, dish by dish
Rubber duck omurice, with a plush you can keep

The rubber duck omurice comes out with an adorable rubber duck character perched right on top of the bowl, so the moment you see it you just blurt out "so cute!!!" The rubber duck plush on top is yours to keep as a souvenir, but it's a limited-time menu, so I'd definitely recommend trying it as the signature dish haha.
With soft egg and savory, pepper-seasoned salmon fried rice, the sweet-salty sauce pairs perfectly — it seems like a great menu to share with a kid too!
Gochujang butter pasta (K-butter pasta)

A dish worthy of this famous Hyehwa pasta restaurant's signature! Could gochujang and butter really go this well together? It was such an unexpected combo that I was really curious.

The heat blended with the rich, mellow flavor of the butter, cutting through any greasiness and cranking up the addictiveness!! The steak on top was cooked tender with just the right seasoning, and the pasta noodles were chewy with a deep flavor that clung to every bite — pure art.
Crunchy corn fritters

Chosen as a side to go with the mains, the crunchy corn fritters looked so tempting with their savory Padano cheese and spicy-salty seasoning!!

The pop of the corn kernels combined with the accompanying dipping sauce delivered a sweet-and-salty charm that made it a great little side dish haha. If you're sensitive to strong spices, though, this might taste a bit intense!
Pineapple ade

For the set's drink I went with the pineapple ade, and the pineapple-shaped cup was so cute it reminded me of SpongeBob!! The pineapple chunks had a jelly-like chew that paired really nicely with the drink haha.

Walking over in the cool autumn breeze had left me a bit peckish, but this generous set really turned my mood around 😆 (it's the perfect portion for two). On these days when just walking around feels good thanks to the cool weather, if you're looking for a delicious weekday lunch spot before catching a play, keep Omil Hyehwa Daehangno in mind!
Is Omil Hyehwa Daehangno worth a Daehangno date course stop?
Full of cute and delicious menu items, it's great for a heart-fluttering couple's date and just as good for making tasty memories with kids. This autumn, why not plan a sweet Daehangno outing with a delicious set menu in this charming space haha.
