What is Songdo Times in Busan?

Hi everyone! Today I visited Songdo Times, a moving photo book studio that's famous as one of the best things to do near Songdo, Busan >< My boyfriend and I were looking for something different to do near Songdo Beach and stumbled on this place, haha.

It's not just a regular four-cut photo booth — you film a 7-second video and get a flipbook you flip through by hand, plus a quirky newspaper-style photo, so I went right in to check it out~

Right at the entrance, a cute hippo mascot character and a Little Prince sticker frame greeted us. There was a helpful usage guide and price list posted on the glass, so even first-time visitors could easily understand how it works~

Inside, there's a great variety of props you can use for the shoot!! Rows of headbands in different styles — characters, cute animals, ribbons — so you can pick whatever suits your taste, haha.

On one side of the store there's also a gacha machine lit up in flashy pink lighting hahaha. It's full of keyrings and various character goods, a nice little extra to enjoy before or after your photo shoot~

How does the 8-second flipbook shoot work?

This is the dedicated flipbook camera machine inside the booth. On the wall there's a guide

that even foreign tourists can easily follow, with a Visit Busan Pass discount guide and a fun shooting tip that says "Move a lot for 8 seconds," haha.

• STEP 1: Film three 8-second videos
• STEP 2: Take three still photos for the cover
• STEP 3: Choose your favorite video and print it
• STEP 4: Check the number on the left of the printed photo and head to the DIY zone to assemble

By the booth entrance there was a curtain and a mirror to give your look — or your props — one last check before shooting, haha. Once you draw the curtain, you get to enjoy your own private shooting time completely to yourselves~!

Assembling your own photo book at the DIY zone

After finishing the shoot, you come out to the DIY work table area~ Seats and neatly organized tools — scissors, a punch, a stapler — meant we could sit comfortably and assemble our own flipbook, haha.

It's a photo book you flip through by hand, and when you riffle it with your fingers, our 7 seconds of continuous movement come to life like a little animated film~ With the fresh pink cover frame on top, it turned into an adorable physical keepsake I want to hold onto forever.

Here's the yellow kiosk — on its side were samples of this place's unique black-and-white newspaper photos hahaha.

Thanks to witty headline frames like "Top Star Couple Lands in Busan" and "Watching Busan While Walking Through It," we got a unique, special couple photo that made us feel like the stars of an actual newspaper story. This spot was also curtained off for privacy, and there was a step stool for shorter kids to adjust their height, so it was easy to shoot comfortably~

We wrapped up by snapping one more black-and-white photo hahaha. It came out so full of feeling and pretty that I printed one out and hung it up at home!!! Total retro vibes~ Thanks to the classic black-and-white atmosphere, our features stayed sharp and clean even with candid shots, letting us get some really emotional-looking shots~

Is Songdo Times worth a visit? Final verdict

Songdo Times, located near Songdo Beach in Busan, is a unique indoor activity where you get away from the usual four-cut photo booth and instead make your own classic flip-through photo book and moody black-and-white newspaper photo~~ It was a great place to stop by after a walk on the beach, shoot privately, and spend a sweet time in the DIY zone decorating each other's photo books.

Those 7 dynamic seconds coming alive again at your fingertips became a precious keepsake that lets you hold onto the afterglow of the trip for a long time, haha.
