Gangnam waxing salon with a 15-minute treatment: Super Waxing

I visited Super Waxing Gangnam (슈퍼왁싱 강남), a waxing salon near Gangnam Station that gives fast, clean care.

This place sits in the alley behind ABC Mart. It is only a three-minute walk from Exit 11 of Gangnam Station, where Line 2 and the Shinbundang Line meet, so it is wonderfully easy to get to. For parking, use the paid mechanical parking garage at City Building and head up.

At the entrance, I wondered if I had the right place, but as you go up, you will see a poke restaurant on the second floor and then the clean Gangnam waxing salon sign right above it. I kept wondering if this was really it on the way to the third floor, but that thought changes once you walk through this entrance.

A white-and-wood waiting area and private treatment rooms

The interior is neat, compact, and done in white and wood tones. Its signature full-length mirror greets you right away, and it is just the spot for snapping a little life shot. There is also a sofa to sit and wait on the side, where they can briefly check on your condition.

Through the hallway to the right of this round mirror is a space where one person can receive treatment privately. This was Chunsami's second visit to this Gangnam waxing salon, so I went in after being shown around with the comfort of coming home.

This perfectly neat room was neither too large nor too small, and it was kept very clean. Getting hair pulled out might normally make you nervous, but this was such a comfortable space that I did not worry even a tiny bit.

And in one corner is the cute doll that is always waiting for us. If you are scared or worried, feel free to hug it or squeeze the life out of it. Chunsami is made of iron, though, so I do not need a doll—I will just trust myself and relax through it.

Once you are assigned your own room, you can change into the skirt laid out on the bed. It swishes and flutters, so it is airy and comfortable—a skirt I rather liked.

And if you need to use the restroom or cleanse beforehand, use the shower room set up at the back of the salon. Everything is prepared in one area, making it easy to wash up, and I loved how short and convenient the route was.

A waxing treatment finished in about 15 minutes

Super Waxing Gangnam uses Lycon Pinkini low-pain brightening wax. After visiting different salons, you notice that some feel like they are ripping at you while others feel very comfortable; apparently that comes down to skill, but also to the wax itself.

They are thorough with hygiene, use good wax to make things hurt less, and work quickly, so it is only natural that one visit turns you into a regular. Waxing for pregnant clients requires even more delicacy, and they say there are many pregnant customers because the experienced staff do it so well.

Maybe it was because the room was comfortable, or because I had eaten a lot and was sleepy, but I was not tense at all. Still, how can their hands be this fast? A few pulls, a few plucks with tweezers for ingrown hairs, and it was done. The hair removal took just 15 minutes, and even with a few minutes for the final soothing pack, I think it took around 20 minutes.

Chunsami is a scaredy-cat who loves low irritation and low pain, so getting hair removed this comfortably was seriously good..! I do not think I can go anywhere else for waxing near Gangnam Station now.. Chatting with the waxer made it fly by, too—so satisfying!

Clean care that makes me want to come back

Gangnam Station is quite a trip from home, but Super Waxing is somewhere I need to visit regularly whenever I am in this area. The clean care lifts my mood, and it feels so good not to be hairy anymore. The dry season is coming, so I should come in for care often!

So, after visiting Super Waxing Gangnam, Chunsami's personal takeaway was that it is a place that provides fast, clean care. It is also ideal for couple waxing, pregnant clients, and Brazilian waxing. With the changing seasons bringing even drier days ahead, do give yourself some clean care!
