On Saturday morning, I went to Hands Coffee Dongchon Recreation Area Branch (핸즈커피 동촌유원지점) with my boyfriend for brunch. We arrived at opening because I wanted to go before it got busy, and both the parking lot and seating were spacious that day.
Where is it, and was parking convenient?
The café is at 5-6 Hyodong-ro 6-gil, Dong-gu, Daegu. According to the original listing, it is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The dedicated parking lot was large, and there were plenty of empty spaces when we arrived at opening on Saturday. After parking, we took the elevator up to the second floor to order brunch.
How were the Saturday morning seats and Geumho River view?
The café was described as occupying the second through fourth floors. The interior was already spacious on the second floor, and there were hardly any people on the third floor at that hour, so it was easy to choose a seat.
We chose a seat facing the Geumho River. We considered sitting right by the window, but ended up on a soft sofa, where the view was still wide open and pleasant.
What brunch did we order, and how much was it?
There were more brunch options than I expected, so after some thought I chose Double Tray Hands Brunch Set B. The set came with cream paccheri pasta and soft jambon-beurre.

The pasta and jambon-beurre arrived. We put the two dishes together and shared them.
What was the texture of the cream paccheri pasta?
The paccheri was thicker and larger than the pasta I usually eat. It was my first time trying this shape, and it had a satisfying chew. Coated generously in the rich, thick cream sauce, it suited my taste. My boyfriend especially enjoyed the pasta of the two dishes.
What did I like about the soft jambon-beurre?
I liked the soft jambon-beurre even more. The bread was warm and fluffy, and there was a generous amount of jambon inside. I liked the combination with butter, so I kept reaching for the jambon-beurre.
Did we have coffee and dessert too?
We ordered one iced long black and shared it. We sipped coffee between bites of pasta and jambon-beurre and spent a relaxed morning.
I also wanted to try a waffle, but after eating the pasta and jambon-beurre, I was full and did not order one that day.
If I visit Dongchon Recreation Area again, I would like to stop by. Next time, I want to try the coffee and a waffle.
