Cheongdam hair salon 3-step protein clinic for tangled hair: Beorn

I took a rare weekday off and figured it was the perfect chance to get a proper hair appointment done. So today I'm introducing a place I visited — Beorn Hair Cheongdam, a hair salon in Cheongdam-dong.

Where is Beorn Hair Cheongdam, and what are the hours?

Beorn Hair Cheongdam is on the 2nd floor of 710 Seolleung-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, right near exit 4 of Gangnam-gu Office Station. Hours are 09:30–20:00 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, closed every Tuesday.

It's really close to exit 4 of Gangnam-gu Office Station, so it wasn't hard to find at all! It's on the 2nd floor of the building with Bidanbim Hanbok store — the sign isn't super eye-catching, so keep an eye out!

Inside the second-floor salon and the drink service

The inside of Beorn Hair Cheongdam takes up the whole 2nd floor, so it's a spacious layout. Once you sit down, they bring you snacks along with a drink — since I came in the afternoon, I went with an iced americano.

I was surprised by how huge the interior felt for just one floor! Clean and upscale, the way you'd expect from a Gangnam hair salon. I also really loved this leafy, green interior touch.

The 3-step protein hair clinic for tangled, damaged hair

The hair clinic at Beorn Hair Cheongdam went through 3 steps — removing surface residue, then high-molecular protein, then low-molecular protein, then a surface coating. My hair was handled by designer Yumin. At first glance, with her short hair and stylish hair color, I thought she'd be intimidatingly cool, but she was so kind and adorable... haha.

Now for the actual clinic — honestly, I'd just let my hair grow without a second thought, and the condition was genuinely a mess... It was so tangled my fingers couldn't even get through it, and it was really stressing me out ㅠㅠ (you can probably tell just from the photo..?! the messiness..!?)

Now the clinic begins. First, my hair was washed to remove surface residue. Then, step 1: while still wet, high-molecular protein was applied and left on for 10 minutes! During that time the hair soaks up the protein little by little.

Then, moving to the step 2 chair, low-molecular protein gets packed in! It felt like my hair was finally getting pampered after so long — I was genuinely excited.

Then heat treatment and steam pack the protein deep into the hair. Apparently this opens the cuticle to let the protein in, then seals it back shut — and with this kind of equipment being used, it's honestly hard for your hair NOT to improve.

Step 3 on the massage bed in the spa room

The last step of the Beorn Hair Cheongdam clinic is a surface coating that seals in the protein so it doesn't escape, and this step moves to the spa room. They wash your hair here, and it's genuinely heaven ㅠㅠ Lying on a massage bed in a dim room while they wash your hair — honestly felt more skilled than an actual massage place?! I've never been anywhere with such a comfortable massage chair before!!

Layered cut consultation and the finished result

After the clinic, I had a layered cut consultation to deal with hair that had become unmanageable. I told them I usually don't do much hair styling, so I wanted something light but easy to maintain.

Ta-da — seeing the finished hair, it was genuinely amazing haha. Comparing before and after, I'm completely satisfied..ㅠ

How about it, how about it — seeing it in video form, you can really feel the before-and-after difference, right?! The hair that was so tangled I couldn't even get a finger through it turned light and neatly styled, and it made me so happy!

The layered cut also gave it natural volume, and it seems like it'll stay pretty without much extra styling, so I'm totally satisfied. She did tell me that styling is everything for hair, so I should always style it properly.. but I couldn't quite bring myself to promise I would.. haha, oh well.
