Osan Chinese restaurant for cook-at-table jjamppong: Dami Sik
In short
Dami Sik is a fusion Chinese restaurant in Nueup-dong, Osan, Gyeonggi. We had the stone jjajang and meat jjamppong set with steamed dumplings on our way home from a trip, and the generous portions and add-your-noodles-when-you-want jjamppong really stayed with us. Verdict: a great spot for a filling family meal.

Dami Sik in Osan on the way home from our trip
Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) is one of my husband's soul foods. Especially after drinking the night before, he always says he gets such a craving for jjamppong. So I wanted to share Dami Sik, the Osan Chinese restaurant we visited in the evening as we were heading home from our trip to Chungcheong-do.
This is a fusion Chinese restaurant known for its pollock stew and stone jjajang (black bean noodles served on a hot stone plate). We come by now and then especially for the cook-at-the-table jjamppong. Parking beside the building is easy too, so we can always park comfortably and walk straight in.

Ordering the stone jjajang, meat jjamppong set and steamed dumplings
We ordered the stone jjajang and meat jjamppong set, plus steamed dumplings. Their yuringi—crispy chicken with tangy sauce—is seriously delicious too, but the kids find it a little spicy, sadly, so we'll save that for next time haha.
Their pollock stew is delicious too, but when we eat with the kids, there is nothing for them to eat if we order it. It comes generously loaded with roe and fish milt, so it is plentiful and tasty, and I was sad we couldn't order it haha.

A neater dining room than six months ago
We came about six months ago, and this time the atmosphere felt a little different. The side dishes seemed different too—green-onion kimchi, salad and danmuji (pickled yellow radish). I also liked that the restaurant felt cleaner and more orderly.

The inside felt a bit more organized as well, and they still have the prize-draw board haha. Our kids got ₩1,000 and ₩500 discount coupons haha. The set menu already has a discount and includes two bowls of rice, so getting an additional discount is such a bargain.

Dami Sik is this generous Osan Chinese restaurant that even gives you free steamed dumplings if you come in before noon.

Stone jjajang that stays hot to the last bite
Dami Sik's stone jjajang looks incredible. The delicious sauce is packed with seafood and onions, with that sweet, stir-fried chunjang (Korean black bean paste) flavor. It has a little smoky wok flavor, so it may taste rather rich to children, but when I asked our oldest, they said it was soooo good.

Personally, I like the jjajangmyeon here a little more than the jjamppong. This stone jjajang stays piping hot until you finish it. Picking out and eating the vegetables inside, like quail eggs and mushrooms, is fun too.

Meat jjamppong with noodles added to the broth
The actual color is closer to the photo on the left, but my new Galaxy S26 Ultra makes it look like the one on the right when I use Food mode. You simmer it like a soup, then add the separately served noodles—such a distinctive look for Dami Sik's meat jjamppong.
So you can have it as jjamppongbap (jjamppong with rice), and it is nice that you can add the noodles at exactly the point you want. Lots of people drink while having this, so my husband cracked open another bottle of soju here too... haha.

Moist steamed dumplings our oldest polished off
I did not even get to taste the dumplings. Maybe I should have ordered another portion. I thought they would be like any other dumplings, but our oldest definitely thought they tasted better than the ones we steam at home and polished off the Chinese-restaurant dumplings. The wrappers were thin, and because they were steamed in a steamer, they came out moist and delicious.

A set with leftovers even for three or four people
The stone jjajang and meat jjamppong set says the noodles are plentiful enough for three or four people. Even after the kids and I had eaten, more than half was left, so my husband had a hard time finishing it all. He is someone who eats a lot and cannot bear to leave food behind, and he said he nearly burst after finishing it haha.
As we kept simmering it, the broth became richer and the seasoning soaked nicely into the noodles, making it even more delicious. Anyway, even my chubby husband, who can easily polish off more than two servings by himself, says the portions here are amazing—so it really seems like a delicious fusion Chinese restaurant in Osan.
Usually there is a long line here, but we went for a slightly early dinner, so there were fewer people while we ate. Next time, we're heading out for the pollock stew :)
