Last time I visited Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, a well-known Nowon spot, everything was great except for one thing — marble ice cream wasn't served at weekday lunch.

But this time I heard they're now serving marble ice cream at weekday lunch too!! Since I basically go there for the marble ice cream, I ran over super excited, haha.

Where is Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, and what are its hours?

Why the bus is the easiest way to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch

I found taking the bus to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch much more convenient than the subway. Get off at Seoul Onchun bus stop and it drops you right in front — about a 3-minute walk including a crosswalk.

The first time I came, I was startled walking through the sauna lobby thinking 'wait, there's a sushi buffet in here?' but take the elevator to the 6th floor and Kuu Kuu appears!

Why a weekday dinner: the three new dishes

I actually found out about the lunch marble ice cream while searching online, but the timing didn't work out this time, so I booked a weekday dinner instead! It had been a few months since my last visit, and new menu items had appeared — smoked duck, LA galbi, and raw salmon sashimi!

These new dishes are only served at weekday dinner and on weekends/holidays, so I was glad I went on a weekday dinner haha. I really love raw salmon, and buying it outside costs ₩15,000-16,000+ for just 200g of salmon fillet..

There were plenty of seats inside so I didn't have to wait, and the tables were spaced generously apart, making it feel comfortable. Just check your table and go grab food right away!

The sushi counter and the sashimi

First stop: the sushi corner. Like last time, I loved how varied and fresh the sushi was. Salmon sushi, flounder sushi, lobster sushi, and a total must-try — beef sirloin sushi.

On one side, salmon, tuna, and other sashimi were laid out, and the raw salmon sashimi looked so fresh!!

Hot food zone: steamed blue crab, whole salmon steak and the new LA galbi

The hot food zone also had a great variety of seafood — steamed shrimp and steamed crab. And a whole grilled salmon steak too! Everything was kept piping hot, tasting like it had just been cooked.

Besides the new smoked duck and LA galbi, there was chicken, BBQ pork ribs, and much more.

Cold food and the Korean food corner

I don't usually eat much cold food at buffets, but Kuu Kuu has such a wide variety that I end up trying a little of everything. Besides salad, there was plenty of yogurt, banchan (side dishes), and Korean food too.

Dessert corner and marble ice cream

The dessert corner had a huge variety of fruit, plus plenty of bakery items like cake and jelly. And of course, my beloved marble ice cream!! Kuu Kuu really is great for enjoying a wide range of dishes.

What I ate, in order, and how it tasted

Obviously the first thing to eat should be sushi?! It was genuinely delicious, almost moving. There were a lot of unfamiliar sushi types I'd never tried before — the kind I'd never risk ordering elsewhere, but since this was an all-you-can-eat buffet, I bravely tried them. Every piece of sushi was fresh and delicious!! Kuu Kuu's signature soy sauce, with its slight sweetness, paired perfectly with the sushi.

Next up: jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles), samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), en croute soup, and the Uljin red snow crab soup! The crab soup is a true must-try — the crab flavor was so rich and delicious. The jjajangmyeon was sweet, tasting like the old-school jjajang flavor from my childhood. And the en croute soup goes without saying — it's Kuu Kuu's bestseller.

The salmon was so good I went back for another round of sushi. Every piece had such a long, generous cut of fish.. It was so, so, sooo good.
