With autumn coming, I really wanted to change up my hairstyle! My hair had started reaching my shoulders and every time I styled it, it looked messy, so I decided to get a bob-length C-curl layered perm.

This time I went to Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch (예움헤어 노원구청점) in Nowon.

Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch is on the 2nd floor of the Taewoong Building. Walking in, the whole place felt clean and as comfortable as a café.

It felt tidy rather than cluttered, so I could relax the whole time I was getting my hair done, and the seats were spaced comfortably apart so the service didn't feel cramped.

Cuts start from ₩20,000s for men and ₩30,000s for women, regular basic perms start from ₩120,000, and setting perms start from ₩160,000. Given today's prices, this is fairly reasonable!

After cutting it into a bob, my hair grew faster than I expected, and it ended up at that awkward length where it just touches my shoulders and flares out.

My previous perm had also loosened quite a bit, so it looked pretty shaggy overall.

Consultation with designer Taeri: a winter-bob C-curl

My treatment today was done by "designer Taeri." She first checked the state of my hair, then I showed her the style I wanted — a bit of a winter-bob look! Instead of a bob that falls in a straight line, I wanted natural C-curls at the ends, with just enough volume near the face to complement my face shape a little better, and she agreed to design it that way.

Throughout the process she kept checking the state of my hair and how the curls were turning out :)

While neutralizing and doing the heat perm, she was adding in the natural C-curls~ She carefully checked in between that it wasn't too hot, and when she shampooed my hair she even gave me a really refreshing scalp massage — such a good time.

Sitting in a cozy window seat with coffee and snacks prepared for me — honestly this was heaven~ Every single staff member felt genuinely kind.

On top of that they even gave me a hand pack partway through, which made me feel how thoughtful this Nowon hair salon really is. Perms have quite a bit of waiting time, but sipping coffee, reading magazines, and getting a hand pack made the time at Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch fly by, not boring at all.

After the perm was done, she trimmed the design even more carefully, taking off more layers from the fringe and sides exactly as much as I wanted! Cutting the fringe a bit shorter somehow made me look younger.

Finally, the treatment was done. My hair, which had been sagging flat overall, looked much lighter with the layers added, and thanks to the C-curl there was natural volume even at the ends.

Especially from the side, the ends of my hair didn't just drop straight down but curved naturally inward toward my face along with the layers, which made my face line look softer too.

Bob-length hair really changes mood a lot depending on the length, and I loved that I could get a real change just through a perm without cutting it too short :)
