Pocheon terrace restaurant with smoked salmon pizza: From Italy
In short
From Italy is a Blue Ribbon-rated Italian restaurant in a brick building near Gomo-ri Reservoir in Sohol-eup, Pocheon, Gyeonggi, run by an owner-chef who trained at a five-star Seoul hotel. We ordered the half-and-half pizza (rocket with smoked salmon, and blueberry) for 34,000 won, gebawi pasta for 29,000 won, and lemon syrup and grapefruit ades at 7,000 won each, starting with bread that takes 14 hours to make; the second floor and a wide terrace leave plenty of room for groups or coffee after the meal. We went to From Italy for the setting, but the food turned out to be the best part of this countryside date restaurant.

Pocheon pasta restaurant worth the trip: From Italy

Hunting down hearty, delicious restaurants is always fun~ but sometimes I want to soak up some atmosphere at a nice restaurant too, haha~
But I can't skimp on taste either! A restaurant verified by a Blue Ribbon, visited by celebrities, and still not far from Seoul, close to Gomo-ri Reservoir so you can pair it with a lakeside date — that's From Italy, a Pocheon restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, and I went to check it out~
It's not just about the atmosphere — the real Italian cooking here is excellent, and my conclusion is: the atmosphere is nice, but the taste is the best!! (Contradicting what I said at the start...) Let's confirm it through the blog!!!
Where From Italy is, its hours and parking
From Italy is an Italian restaurant at 669 Jugyeopsan-ro, Sohheul-eup, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, and parking is available. Wed–Fri hours are 11:30–20:40 (break 15:30–17:00, last order 20:00), Sat–Sun hours are 11:00–20:40 (last order 20:00), and it's closed every Monday and Tuesday.

A standing sign marked the way to From Italy, so it was easy to find, and once we parked in the spacious lot and headed toward the restaurant~
A gorgeous-looking brick building greeted us~

Blue Ribbon awards and a chef from a five-star hotel
Apparently this is a place where you can taste the cooking of an owner-chef who used to work at a five-star hotel in Seoul~

As if to back that up, a wall full of Blue Ribbons greeted us~
Seating on both floors and the terrace at From Italy
Inside From Italy, the warm lighting and interior really made it feel like stepping into medieval Europe, seriously upscale. I lost track of time just looking around.
There's a second floor too, so there's plenty of space even for group visits~

There's also a spacious terrace, great for a coffee after the meal~

What we ordered at From Italy and what it cost
This wasn't just a menu for the sake of having one — there was a whole range of pastas and Italian dishes truly developed from the chef's own creative ideas~
- Half-and-half pizza ₩3.4 (blueberry, rocket smoked salmon)
- Gebawi pasta ₩2.9
- Lemon syrup ade ₩0.7
- Grapefruit ade ₩0.7
We ordered the half-and-half pizza along with the gebawi pasta~
Lemon syrup ade and grapefruit ade

First, the lemon syrup ade and grapefruit ade arrived~ The ade really seemed to be made with pure carbonated water, since the only sweetness came from the syrup and the soda water itself wasn't sweet, so paired with the meal it really whetted the appetite even more.
The bread that takes 14 hours to make

Then came the pre-meal bread — this bread, which takes 14 hours to make, had rich air pockets and a chewy texture, and dipped in balsamic vinegar and olive oil, it really got my appetite going~

How does the gebawi pasta taste?
From Italy's gebawi pasta (₩2.9) is a spicy cream pasta topped with fried crab on top of gonggalppang (a puffed, hollow Korean bread). The gebawi pasta came out first~

The fried crab sitting on the gonggalppang looked almost alive, and it was a fun, appetizing-looking pasta.
You break up the gonggalppang and eat it together with the cream sauce.

The fried crab, flying fish roe, gonggalppang, and sprouts each added a different new texture to the pasta, so every bite had its own charm~

The pasta itself had a nice al dente bite, and being a spicy cream pasta, it's exactly the kind of flavor any Korean palate would love, so I ate it up happily~
The pickles, with a bright flavor that seemed to have turmeric in them, cleaned the palate and kept giving me the energy to keep eating~

Half-and-half pizza: rocket with smoked salmon and blueberry
From Italy's half-and-half pizza (₩3.4) is a thin-crust pizza split between rocket (arugula) with smoked salmon and blueberry. Even though it's a thin-crust pizza, it came out generously loaded~

The bitterness of the rocket, the tang and umami of the balsamic, and the flavor of the diced salmon all came together in harmony — a healthy pizza with a genuinely appealing, wholesome flavor~

The blueberry pizza, where cheese and a sweet sauce come together and finish with blueberry, has a rich, sweet flavor that holds up as a meal but also felt like it could pass for dessert with its nutty sweetness — a delicious way to close out the meal~!

Is From Italy a good date spot near Gomo-ri Reservoir?
A Gomo-ri pasta restaurant that nails both atmosphere and taste — From Italy, and we ate very well~!
I visited From Italy, a Pocheon pasta restaurant. Since it's close to Gomo-ri Reservoir, it was great for a walk before or after the meal, and it's also a good spot for a suburban outing, family trip, or countryside date, plus the food is verified by a Blue Ribbon and a chef with five-star hotel experience, so it's a restaurant with both proven taste and a wonderful atmosphere.
For a successful date, give From Italy a try~ Your love will grow as deep as the flavors~
