Seongsu dessert café 5-flavor madeleine selection to go: Notldun

I went to Seongsu and finally got to try the Notldun madeleine collection I'd wanted for a while. Notldun is a dessert café near Seoul Forest, and the madeleines especially come in five flavors, so it was so fun picking one of each to try.🤍✨

Finding Notldun on the 2nd floor in Seongsu

Notldun is on the 2nd floor of the building, so you follow the stairs up to reach the shop. The 1st floor is a different store, so be careful not to walk in there!

I visited on a weekday, but this is the kind of popular spot where you'll wait in line on weekends. If you're taking out, you can walk in without waiting :)

Inside Notldun: a white-toned dessert café

From the moment I walked in it felt clean and tidy overall. With the interior centered on white tones, the desserts stood out even more.

The seating is mostly set up for 2-3 people, and though the space is small, it felt well put together. Rather than being flashily decorated, the space itself had a clean, no-frills style.✨

Notldun's identity was clearly stamped everywhere, from the cup design to the walls.

Madeleine selection 28,000 won, financier selection 32,000 won

Notldun's main desserts have to be the madeleines and financiers, right? The flavor-assorted selection boxes were the most eye-catching.

They also sell a Valrhona madeleine selection made with Valrhona chocolate, not just the regular ones! It's a menu I'd never seen before, so it was intriguing and caught my eye.

Every dessert in the showcase looked gorgeous, so it was fun just browsing. But quite a few were already sold out. Since it's close to Seoul Forest, it'd be great to pick some up for a picnic.

I was most drawn to the colorful madeleines haha, so I picked the selection with five flavors in one box.

Since I planned to eat them comfortably at home, I got the madeleine selection to go :) The packaging box and paper bag were so pretty too 🤍

Is Notldun's packaging good enough for a gift?

When I opened it up, the madeleines were arranged neatly in the box, so it felt less like buying dessert and more like bringing home a small gift. The packaging quality was so nice and elegant overall that I thought it'd be great as a gift too.

What comes in Notldun's madeleine selection box?

Here's the madeleine selection I ordered. 🤍 The madeleines come in five different flavors.

Each flavor is expressed through its own color and shape, so the whole thing was arranged like a collection — fun to look at even before eating. 👀

Raspberry, vanilla, earl grey, pistachio, and lime — such a nice variety of flavors evenly spread out, good to look at and good to eat.

How do the five madeleine flavors taste?

I figured eating all five would be too much, so I tried each flavor except the plain vanilla one.

With the earl grey, the first bite brought up a subtle, distinctive black tea aroma that I loved. With that fragrant tea note added, it tasted a bit calmer and more grown-up. If you like earl grey, you'll definitely like this one!

Next was pistachio, one of my favorites. You could clearly taste that distinctive nutty, mild pistachio flavor. With plenty of pistachio piled on top, there was a nutty crunch too, and it paired really well with the madeleine's own soft texture.

Then there was lime, which I'd been curious about. At first I thought, is this lemon? But it turned out to be a more refreshing lime, which was a nice surprise. Lime-flavored desserts are pretty rare, so I thought it was distinctive. 🍋🟩

For me, the flavor that felt most distinctly different was the raspberry. Its tart-sweet character made my mouth feel so much fresher.

Eating madeleines one after another can start to feel a bit heavy because of the buttery flavor, but having raspberry in between worked like a palate refresher, so it all balanced out nicely.

Final verdict on Notldun's madeleine selection

Raspberry: tart and sweet. Lime: fresh and refreshing. Pistachio: nutty. Earl grey: fragrant! Notldun sells elegant, delicious desserts in Ttukseom, Seongsu-dong. If you're like me and enjoy trying a little of many flavors, I'd recommend going for the madeleine selection!
