Seongsu café with a citrus perilla smoothie: Iridescent

While wondering where to go over the weekend, I visited a place that had been super hot on Instagram. A friend and I had been meaning to go forever, and I finally stopped by with my dog after visiting Seoul Forest, haha. The atmosphere was so much better than I expected, and my excitement shot right up from the moment I walked in. ✨

It is close to Exit 8 of Ttukseom Station. It takes just five minutes on foot from the station, so it is really easy to find.

Charcoal walls and soft lighting set the mood

Once you step inside, you will completely fall for it. The charcoal-toned walls and soft lighting make it feel like a truly upscale wine bar.

The tables are generously spaced and comfortable, perfect for sitting around and chatting for ages. Opening the sliding door by the window makes the atmosphere even better!

The space itself is so pretty and pleasant that it is absolutely ideal for a Seongsu date. It is also great for meeting friends, and it is the kind of atmosphere that will earn you compliments if you bring your partner, haha.

You choose your seat as soon as you enter, and because we had a dog, we could only use the window-side seats! The staff welcomed us so warmly that I was in a great mood from the start.

The staff help you order directly at the counter and explain the menu in great detail. The signature items are so unusual, so I loved that they kindly explained what each one tasted like while I was choosing.

From a perilla smoothie to pepper tiramisu

The menu will make your eyes go wide. Starting with the signature citrus perilla-leaf smoothie, there is pepper tiramisu and Basque cheesecake, too.

The prices are quite reasonable for a Seongsu-dong café, so it is easy to try several things without feeling burdened. For coffee, you can choose between acidic and nutty beans.

Our drinks finally came out. The presentation alone made me go, “Wow!”

The citrus perilla-leaf smoothie has a green hue, topped with a large perilla leaf and a slice of lemon. The moment I took a sip, I could not help but gasp—wow.

I expected the perilla aroma to hit hard, but not at all—it tasted like refreshing green grapes.

For a fun twist, you could put the sherbet on the perilla leaf and eat it like a wrap. It was much more delicious than I expected, which really surprised me! Haha. The aroma, texture, and finish were all wonderfully cool and refreshing.

A decaf iced Americano

This is the iced Americano we ordered alongside it. I tried it with decaf beans,

and it had no acidity with amazingly good balance. It cleans up the palate so neatly—simply perfect.

Next time, pepper tiramisu too

There are also lots of desserts that make a nice light side.

Every baked treat looked delicious, and the cheesecake torched to order is famous, too. If I visit again, I absolutely have to try it with the pepper tiramisu next time, haha.

Everything is perfect, from the drinks to the inventive menu lineup. I loved the refined interior, and even the kindness of the staff—everything works together beautifully.

It is an excellent spot that nails both value and quality, so it does not feel like a waste of money at all.
