Seongsu cake café for gift-wrapped birthday cakes and wine: Notldun

In short

Notldun is a cake and dessert café in Seongsu, Seoul, right beside Seoul Forest on Seoul Forest 2-gil. For a birthday, the Pistachio Festival and the Salty Caramel Mille-feuille were 13,000 won each and came individually wrapped, and the mille-feuille paired especially well with wine. Notldun is an easy recommendation when you need a gift or celebration cake.

I found a café in Seongsu that's really good at desserts, so I visited the cake spot Notldun. It's near Seoul Forest, and every single dessert is made like a piece of art — it seemed perfect for buying as a gift!

Notldun's glass-front exterior and compact interior on Seoul Forest 2-gil

The outside of Notldun has floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can see right into the store. It looked clean and stylish!

It's on the ground floor, but there's a semi-basement level too, so it feels almost like 1.5 floors?

Inside, it's white-toned with wood accents, giving it a clean look. The space is smaller than I expected — cozy. There aren't that many tables either, so it feels more suited to a light dessert outing with 2–3 people than a big group.

The packaging is clean too, so it seems great for gifting! The Notldun logo isn't overdone, which gives the whole thing a premium feel.

Notldun menu: picking up cakes only

Notldun has a lot of dessert options, and no small number of drinks either. I'd already had coffee, so I just picked up cake!

The Mascaberry looked delicious too, but it was sold out... I'll have to try it next time... Still, good thing there were other kinds of cake left!

Every single dessert is pretty. The quality is no joke, right? Hotel-level visuals 🥰

There are also plenty of baked goods besides cakes. The madeleines all look tasty~

I'll have to try the madeleines next time! They seem like they'd go great with coffee.

Individual wrapping: does it work as a gift?

When you buy cake at Notldun, they wrap each piece individually. The wrapping was thorough, which I loved~ Looking at it again, isn't the cake just so pretty? Almost too pretty to eat... I'm going to gift this cake for my friend's birthday who lives in Seoul! I think she'll totally love it.

They really seem to make the cakes with such delicate care! Up close, the quality is quite something!!

How the Pistachio Festival and Salty Caramel Mille-feuille taste

The Pistachio Festival tasted strongly of pistachio, just as the name suggests! It reminded me of dubu-kkondae (a chewy pistachio-style snack). It's on the sweeter side, I'd say! I think it would pair perfectly with an Americano.

The Salty Caramel Mille-feuille wasn't as sweet as I expected! The pastry outside is crispy while the cream inside wraps around it softly? One bite in and it's genuinely moving! I had it with wine, and it went so well together!! I highly, highly recommend the Salty Caramel Mille-feuille.

I bought this cake for a birthday and I'm very satisfied! Nothing lacking in taste or looks~ Lately I've been obsessed with cakes made directly by a pâtissier like this! There's fun in just looking at the dessert, but the taste is different from an ordinary cake too~ So delicious~ A luxurious taste 🧡
