Relocated Wirye shabu-shabu restaurant Daonjeong: spicy set for two

A few days ago I made a Naver reservation in advance, and today at 5pm my husband and I headed to Daonjeong Shabu Son Kalguksu (다온정샤브손칼국수). Since it was Friday night, I expected it to be packed — but maybe because it was still early, there weren't many customers yet. What a relief, haha.

Actually, I used to be a regular here :)

Before it moved, I went to the old location all the time. But since it relocated near Wirye Central Plaza, this was my first visit to the new spot. I felt a little excited going back after so long :)

Where is Daonjeong Shabu Son Kalguksu now, and what are the hours?

Daonjeong Shabu Son Kalguksu moved to the 2nd floor of Woosung Tram Tower Building A near Wirye Central Plaza. The address is 310 Wiryegwangjang-ro, Woosung Tram Tower Building A, Unit 210, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.

Business hours run from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with a break time from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Last order is at 8:30 PM, and the sign said they're closed every Tuesday.

Inside the bigger dining room after Daonjeong's move to Wirye

The old location was honestly pretty cramped. There were fewer tables, so I remember waiting several times. But coming to the new spot this time, it's so much bigger than before!

With the bigger space, it definitely felt more relaxed and comfortable. It seems like it would be much easier to come with family now that there's more room.

Daonjeong Shabu Son Kalguksu menu and what two people paid

We ordered the Onjeong Shabu Bossam Set (maesaengi pancake table setting), ₩14,900, in the 'spicy' flavor, two servings. The total came to ₩29,800. Per person that's a pretty reasonable price for a set that includes both shabu-shabu and boiled pork — quite generous :)

What comes in the spicy shabu-shabu broth: vegetables and meat

When the Onjeong Shabu Bossam Set (maesaengi pancake table setting) arrived, it came piled high with various vegetables, mushrooms, and fish cake.

Once the spicy broth started bubbling, we turned the heat down a bit and cooked the beef and vegetables one at a time.

The spicy, deep flavor of the broth warms you right up from the inside — exactly the kind of thing you crave as the weather starts to cool down.

With the boiled pork and maesaengi (seaweed) pancake on top of that, the meal felt even more substantial :) We kept reaching for more and cleaned our plates in no time, haha.

What is served after the meal at Daonjeong?

After the meal we got to enjoy some dessert too — I noticed there's even more puffed corn than before, haha.

Plum tea and iced tea were also set out, perfect for cleansing the palate after all that spicy shabu-shabu.

Is the relocated Daonjeong still worth it? Final verdict

Same great taste as when I used to visit the old location! Being able to eat in a much roomier space gave it a different kind of charm.

Even though it's the same restaurant, since it was my first visit after the move, it felt like getting to know the place all over again :) If you're looking for spicy shabu-shabu near Wirye Central Plaza, or want to eat with family in a spacious, comfortable spot —

give the new <Daonjeong Shabu Son Kalguksu> location a try! Starting today, I think I'll be heading back to 'Daonjeong Shabu Son Kalguksu' more often too, haha.
