The weather's turning cool lately, and it made me crave shabu-shabu — warm broth loaded with vegetables and meat. So I headed to a delicious shabu-shabu spot in Wirye New Town, Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam^^

Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam, a Namwirye Station favorite, is an all-you-can-eat specialist for shabu-shabu, wolnamssam (Vietnamese-style rice paper wraps), and beef.

Partitioned seating and window tables over Changgokcheon Stream
The interior of this Namwirye Station favorite is modern and upscale, with a clean, bright overall atmosphere. Every seat is separated by partitions, so you can eat comfortably without any disturbance from your surroundings.

A big strength of this Namwirye Station favorite is the view — there were quite a few window seats where you can eat while looking out at beautiful Changgokcheon Stream. It's a great spot for family dinners, work get-togethers, or any kind of gathering. Book ahead and you can dine in a room with a full glass wall overlooking the stream, though reservations there start from 3 people.

Wheelchair and stroller seats you can reserve, plus takeout
There's separate seating reserved for wheelchair and stroller users. It's not enclosed in a room but left open, making it easy to use. They also take takeout orders — you can take the whole shabu-shabu and wolnamssam experience home, from the broth to every menu item including the wraps. It seems like a great way to enjoy shabu-shabu at home just like at the restaurant.
Ordering for two at the 21,900-won weekend adult price

Here's the table we ate at today. We came without a reservation, but arrived a bit early before the busy meal time so we got a good spot. Since it's an all-you-can-eat place where you bring everything to your table yourself, I personally prefer sitting close to the self-bar^^

You order first at the kiosk from your table, and they set up the broth and basic dishware for you. Then you use the self-bar. We ordered the weekend adult all-you-can-eat rate, ₩21,900 per person, for two people.
What is on the self-bar: over 40 vegetables and beef cuts
The self-bar at Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam, a Namwirye Station favorite

The owner of this Namwirye Station favorite has apparently worked as a vegetable wholesaler at Garak Market for 20 years. They say only the freshest vegetables, selected personally after the auction, are served.

The beef is top-grade too, with both beef neck and beef brisket available. If you want something lighter and cleaner-tasting, go for the beef neck; if you want a richer, more savory flavor, go for the beef brisket.

How the plate-reuse rule works at Dadam
I really liked that they reuse dishes. Usually at shabu-shabu restaurants people go through plates carelessly, which means more dish soap used and more food waste generated — and in the end, that damage to the planet comes right back around to us. It made me think that practicing something small like this is important.

Clear broth vs seafood broth, and which bowl is for what
We ordered two broths: clear and seafood. The big round black bowl is for vegetables, the black square plate is for beef, and the white square plate is for wolnamssam. At first I didn't know what to do, but a staff member kindly explained it all to me.

I went to the self-bar, brought back as much as I wanted, and plated it all nicely^^ Once the broth was boiling, we added the vegetables and beef to cook.

Over 40 kinds of fresh vegetables, brought in daily from Garak Market, at this Namwirye Station favorite!! You could tell just by looking how fresh they were!!
Not just the vegetables — the beef is also top-grade and all-you-can-eat at Dadam Shabu Shabu!! If you like Korean food or beef, I don't think you can go wrong here^^
Wolnamssam sauces and rice paper: how the wraps actually taste
We brought out peanut sauce, chili sauce, and spicy soy sauce, along with a case of fresh wolnamssam vegetables and rice paper, and set it all up.
The vegetables that looked fresh to the eye tasted just as great — everything was crisp and fresh, so delicious. The beef was fresh too, with no off smell at all, and you could really taste the beef's characteristic savoriness, with a pretty good chewy texture as well.

With the weather turning cooler these days, I found myself craving that hot shabu-shabu broth, and ended up scooping up a lot of soup that day.
I usually don't eat much wolnamssam because wrapping it is a bit of a hassle, but the vegetables at this Namwirye Station favorite were so fresh and tasty that I ended up eating quite a lot.
That day I ate so much I found myself thinking, 'was wolnamssam always this delicious?'^^ I think it was because the vegetables were that fresh.

Finishing porridge and affogato for dessert
To finish off the shabu-shabu, we made porridge too, boiling it up with sesame oil, seaweed flakes, and egg. It was such a nutty, delicious porridge.
I made the top dessert item at this Namwirye Station favorite: affogato. You fill a cup with ice cream, then pour espresso from the machine over it.
We poured espresso made from top-grade beans over fresh vanilla ice cream. When the coffee aroma rose up from the sweet ice cream, it put me in such a good mood and tasted amazing. It felt like it cut right through any greasiness from the meal, refreshingly. It's a dessert as good as any café, so you don't need to go somewhere else for coffee afterward^^

Don't forget to collect points after your meal!! They give back 5% of the payment amount, and points are usable starting from ₩10,000, so make sure to grab them~ All-you-can-eat shabu-shabu, wolnamssam, and beef at Dadam Shabu Shabu & Wolnamssam, a Namwirye Station favorite~ enjoy plenty, and stay happy always^^
